Meet Evgenios (aka Eugene). In Greek, his name means “the kind one,” and it couldn’t suit him better. Evgenios was found alone on a busy avenue in downtown Athens—dirty, skinny, injured, and desperately seeking affection, chasing passersby for cuddles, though most barely noticed him. He was invisible until his luck turned around. He was finally seen by two kind women, experienced volunteers, who knew instantly he wouldn’t survive long if left there. They placed him in a handbag, this was all they had, but it was enough to make Evgenios feel safe and happy, and took him immediately to the vet, as he had a head injury and was underweight. The head injury was old and already healing. With care and love, Evgenios was nursed back to full health, regaining his strength and weight in no time. He is the kindest and most affectionate cat you could meet. Despite his rough start, he’s full of joy, always ready to play, cuddle, or curl up in your lap. He falls in love with every little trinket or toy you give him! He adores his toys, collecting them, hiding them, and proudly showing them off to guests, often followed by a “love attack” of cuddles. Evgenios is a perfect mix of people-loving and independent. He’ll happily entertain himself for hours but thrives on companionship and affection. Wherever he goes, he brings sunshine with him. Now all he needs is a forever home.
