Adopt Hutch

Male

Hutch male dog Groß Geschlecht: Männlich Geboren: ca 02/2024 Größe: Mittelgroß Rasse: Boerboel Katzen: nein Andere Hunde: nein Hutch is a big little man. Character & Behavior Hutch is a friendly, people-oriented dog who quickly builds trust after a short get-to-know-you phase. He is eager to learn, attentive, and enjoys activities with his trusted people. He handles new situations well and orientates himself to his human. He is breed-typical. While Hutch is pugnacious with other dogs, especially on the leash, he is not fundamentally inclined against them. Female dogs are preferred, while male dogs are not. Small animals and cats should not live in the household. Daily & Training Hutch knows basic everyday situations, is house-trained, and can stay alone at home for a short time. He already masters basic commands, but these should be reinforced. Attending dog training classes would be recommended to strengthen the bond. Health Hutch is vaccinated and microchipped. The left elbow is not suspicious for arthritis; it is an inherited condition. Wunschzuhause For Hutch we wish for a breed-experienced home that offers him patience, time, and clear structures. An apartment living situation is out of the question. He knows children, but they should simply be stable. Other fellow animals should not live in the household. Specials He is not a dog for the breed-experienced, nor does he thrive in a hectic environment. He needs people who understand him. He even lived for several weeks in a household with children and female dogs. With good handling, this was also perfect, Hutch is a dream dog. Was it the stress from the absence of the two female dogs that then turned him into a destruction junkie.

Kinder kennt er, sie sollten einfach nur standfest sein. Weitere Artgenossen sollten nicht im Haushalt leben. Besonderheiten Er ist kein Hund für Rasseunerfahrene, eine hektische Umgebung. Er benötigt Menschen, die wissen, wie er tickt.. Er lebte sogar einige Wochen in einem Haushalt mit Kindern und Hündinnen zusammen. Mit gutem Handling war dies auch perfekt, Hutch ist ein Traumhund. War es der Stress durch die Abwesenheit der zwei Hündinnen, die ihn dann zum Zerstörungsjunkie motieren ließen. {gallery}hunde/hunde-2025/hutch/gallery}

About Hutch

What life with Hutch looks like

Hutch is a small adult dog waiting at Tierheim Delitzsch in Delitzsch.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hutch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hutch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Delitzsch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hutch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hutch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Delitzsch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hutch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hutch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Delitzsch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hutch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
