Adopt Kaiser

Husky · Male · Adult · 8 years

Kaiser is an 8-year-old Husky who needs to be the only pet due to guarding behaviors and conflicts with other animals. He's friendly and affectionate with people, forming strong bonds and loving cuddles. Kaiser has medium energy requiring regular walks and enrichment. He can be left alone for up to 4 hours but may destructively chew items. He's suitable for families with children 14+ and loves being brushed. Requires experienced owners who understand his breed needs. Dogs Trust's behavior team will provide ongoing support for his transition to a new home.

Kaiser will need to be the only pet in the home, as he can be conflicted when meeting other dogs and cannot live with cats, dogs, or small furries due to some guarding behaviours. He can be left for up to four hours, but potential adopters should be mindful that Kaiser has a history of shredding or eating blankets, bedding, and toys, so any items that could pose a foreign-body risk should be removed when he is alone. Our Training and Behaviour Team will provide guidance to help manage this and support Kaiser as he settles into his new home. Because of Kaiser’s background, home visits with our team will also help ensure a smooth and positive transition. With the right understanding, a calm home environment, lots of love, and regular brushing sessions, Kaiser has the potential to be a wonderfully loyal and affectionate companion. 🐾 Kaiser is an older 8-year-7-month-old dog who is confident and friendly when meeting new people. He absolutely loves human company and enjoys plenty of fuss, affection, and a cuddle bug. Kaiser forms strong bonds with his people and has lots of love to give, so he is looking for a home where he can enjoy companionship and attention. He is a medium-energy dog who would suit a household able to provide regular walks, enrichment, and plenty of quality time together. Kaiser can live with children aged 14 and over, and he would really enjoy a home where someone appreciates his love for being brushed — it’s one of his favourite things and he will happily relax and even fall asleep during grooming sessions. A family with an understanding of his breed and a patient, caring approach will help Kaiser thrive.
