Again we were allowed to welcome a puppy throw. The seven small new additions were discovered together with their mum and another sibling in the field. Their finders decided to adopt the mum as well as a puppy, but the remaining seven puppies did not find any space and therefore moved into the PLACE for STRAYS. But the little Lily suddenly didn't go well. She got severe diarrhea and we had to take her to the animal clinic in Faro. There the diagnosis came: Parvo virus positive. A word that draws the floor under our feet every time – because Parvo is highly contagious, very dangerous and life-threatening for young puppies. Lily fought for her life together with her siblings at the clinic. Unfortunately, it wasn't all, but Lily, fortunately, became healthy again. Lily has been living at a nursing centre in Germany since the beginning of January and makes great progress there daily. Stairs, apartment and everyday life are now quite natural. It is particularly positive how good it can find to rest: In her box she relaxes quickly, even in new situations or when she is alone in the room. Outside Lily shows curious and courageous, runs attentively and takes up her surroundings interested. Foreign people and visits meet them carefully, but openly. Children still find them a bit scary and watch them safe. Car driving now loves her right and uses the car as her small resting place. She listens well to her name, comes cheerfully called and shows how clever she is. In the garden and during the walk, it is good to speak, even though its curious nose is sometimes very busy. At home, she likes to test limits, but also shows how much pleasure she has near, small training sessions and common moments. With other dogs, it is self-confident and sometimes somewhat superfoaming from energy, but always friendly in contact. Lily is a lovely, up-and-coming dog girl who gets a little more trust every day – and develops into a great companion. For more information please contact the conciliation team.

Wieder durften wir einen Welpenwurf bei uns willkommen heißen. Die sieben kleinen Neuzugänge wurden gemeinsam mit ihrer Mama und einem weiteren Geschwisterchen im Feld entdeckt. Ihre Finder entschieden sich, die Mama sowie einen Welpen zu adoptieren, doch die restlichen sieben Welpen fanden keinen Platz und zogen somit im PLACE for STRAYS ein. Doch der kleinen Lily ging es plötzlich gar nicht gut. Sie bekam starken Durchfall und wir mussten sie sofort in die Tierklinik nach Faro bringen. Dort kam die Diagnose: Parvo-Virus positiv. Ein Wort, das uns allen jedes Mal den Boden unter den Füßen wegzieht – denn Parvo ist hoch ansteckend, sehr gefährlich und gerade für junge Welpen lebensbedrohlich. Lily kämpfte zusammen mit ihren Geschwistern in der Klinik um ihr Leben. Leider schafften es nicht alle, doch Lily wurde glücklicherweise wieder gesund. Lily lebt seit Anfang Januar auf einer Pflegestelle in Deutschland und macht dort täglich schöne Fortschritte. Treppen, Wohnung und Alltag meistert sie inzwischen ganz selbstverständlich. Besonders positiv ist, wie gut sie zur Ruhe finden kann: In ihrer Box entspannt sie sich schnell, auch in neuen Situationen oder wenn sie alleine im Raum ist. Draußen zeigt sich Lily neugierig und mutig, läuft aufmerksam mit und nimmt ihre Umgebung interessiert auf. Fremde Menschen und Besuch begegnet sie vorsichtig, aber offen. Kinder findet sie noch etwas unheimlich und beobachtet sie lieber aus sicherer Nähe. Autofahren liebt sie inzwischen richtig und nutzt das Auto als ihren kleinen Ruheort. Sie hört gut auf ihren Namen, kommt fröhlich angerannt und zeigt dabei, wie clever sie ist. Im Garten und beim Spaziergang ist sie gut ansprechbar, auch wenn ihre neugierige Nase sie manchmal sehr beschäftigt. Menschen gegenüber ist sie noch vorsichtig, lässt sich aber freundlich einladen.Zu Hause testet sie gern spielerisch Grenzen, zeigt aber auch, wie viel Freude sie an Nähe, kleinen Trainingseinheiten und gemeinsamen Momenten hat. Mit anderen Hunden ist sie selbstbewusst und manchmal etwas überschäumend vor Energie, aber stets freundlich im Kontakt. Lily ist ein liebenswertes, aufgewecktes Hundemädchen, das jeden Tag ein Stückchen mehr Vertrauen fasst – und sich zu einer tollen Begleiterin entwickelt.
