Adopt Masko (m)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Small, lost... and yet full of hope. This is the little puppy, MASKO... Just about four months old (he will be medium-sized) - and already life has shown him its harsh side. He just had bad luck... at the wrong time, in the wrong place. The dog catchers found him, collected him - and like so many others, simply left him at the public animal shelter in Botosani (Romania). Without looking back. Without a second chance. Since then, he has been living there. Among about 800 other dogs. Among countless puppies, all fighting for survival. Every day it's about getting enough food. Not freezing. Not drowning... A small body in a much too large, much too rough world. And yet... MASKO has kept his puppy-like heart. He is curious, gentle, and full of hope - ready to discover life, if only someone gives him the chance. What you need to know: MASKO is still too young to say what character he will develop. He is at the very beginning of his life - his personality will form over time. This means that you should be ready to accept everything and accompany him lovingly. The little man is soon ready to travel and is waiting to finally be seen... truly seen. We wish for him a loving home, people who know that a puppy means work, patience, time - but also gives a life full of love. Very important: Please do not adopt a dog out of mere pity. A dog is a decision for many years - 10, 15 years or more. He needs you as a reliable partner by his side. We would be happy to have an extensive conversation with you beforehand, to see together if it really fits - honestly, openly, and in the best interest of the dog. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Masko (m)

What life with Masko (m) looks like

Masko (m) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Masko (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Masko (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Masko (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Masko (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Masko (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Masko (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Masko (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
