Adopt Max

Rottweiler · Male · Adult · 5 years

Max is a dog with a big heart and even bigger emotions. When he loves someone, he does it wholeheartedly. Then he becomes a true cuddler and a clingy companion who would rather not go a step away from his human. He loves closeness, contact and shared moments. Interestingly, Max is fond of small dogs and cats. In their company, he can be surprisingly gentle and calm. And when he doesn't like someone? Well... then he really doesn't like them. That's why Maksior needs an experienced person, preferably someone familiar with the specifics of working with Rottweilers, especially those that have had a difficult start in life. It's a dog that requires clear rules, consistency and conscious handling, but in the right hands, it shows its wonderful, loyal nature.

Max to pies o wielkim sercu i jeszcze większych emocjach. Gdy kogoś pokocha – to na całego. Wtedy zamienia się w prawdziwego pieszczocha i przylepę, który najchętniej nie odstępowałby swojego człowieka na krok. Uwielbia bliskość, kontakt i wspólne chwile.

About Max

What life with Max looks like

Max is a large adult rottweiler dog waiting at Schronisko Wrocław in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs experienced owner familiar with Rottweiler-type dogs, requires consistent training and clear boundaries

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Wrocław handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Wrocław will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Max already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Wrocław early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
