Adopt Milo

English Bulldog · Male · Puppy

Milo is a truly special three-legged boy with a gentle, sensitive nature and so much love to give. At just 10 months old, he is still young and has so much potential ahead of him. He’s looking for a patient and understanding home where he can continue to grow in confidence and be loved for exactly who he is.He has adapted incredibly well to life on three legs, getting around happily and confidently. After a gentle potter, he’s more than happy to settle down and relax.Friendly and intelligent, he loves his treats, especially his Kong, which makes him very trainable. He knows what is expected of him when it comes to toileting, but as a young dog he may need a little guidance and consistency while he settles into a new home and routine. He does get tired and out of breath quite quickly, so he doesn’t need long walks. He much prefers a short, gentle potter at his own pace, followed by plenty of time to relax and chill. He is a sensitive boy who can become overwhelmed by loud noises and busy surroundings, so he would suit a quieter home where he can feel safe. He will need someone who can give him the time, patience, and reassurance he needs to build his confidence. He does settle well and can be left for short periods once comfortable. He has lived with other dogs before but can become a little overexcited, so introductions would need to be carefully managed. He might suit being the only pet in the home, or he may be able to live with a calm dog with gentle introductions. This would need to be discussed to ensure the right fit.He has never lived with children before, but we think he could live with older, dog-savvy children who understand his boundaries and can give him space when needed.Full of character and love, he will make a loyal and rewarding companion in the right home.

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a puppy/kitten english bulldog dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
