Fluffy Curly Head knows exactly what he wants...and makes it very clear! Dog experience is an absolute must. Well, they're funny. Fluffy once was. I wear my curls short now. Otherwise, I wouldn't see who I'm greeting! But so you can see how I look when I can't see, there are before-and-after photos. And so you don't miss out on who you're dealing with while looking, here are the facts: I am middle-aged, athletic, love going for walks, bond quickly and happily with my human. Cuddling and snuggles are at the top of my list. I don't need other dogs around me, but during walks, I can ignore them very well or remain completely calm. In principle, I know how a dog should behave. Exception: When things don't go the way I want them to, I show my teeth. Clearly and persistently. Here at the animal shelter, I behave completely inconspicuously. I let myself be petted from head to toe, share my cushion with the two-legged ones, and am everyone's favorite lady. In the new home, it's the same for the first few days. After that, however, I show my teeth if someone gets under my fur and I don't want it. Need an example? Sure: You're sitting on the sofa with me. You leave your spot, I take it, you come back and try to push me aside, I lunge forward in attack. Of course, a dog shouldn't behave like that. I know it myself. Together with the caretakers and a dog trainer, we are working on the cause (and solution) of the problem. Whether I am simply defending resources, want to be the "alpha of the pack," or something else is behind it. What is already clear: This is not something that will be resolved in the animal shelter, as I do not exhibit this behavior here. Whoever deals with me will have to work it out with me in their home. Accompanied closely by the animal shelter and dog trainer, I am definitely n o t a dog for everyone. You should have a lot of dog sense and not be swayed by my appearance. Additionally, you should be aware that I am a challenge that cannot be tackled casually and requires patience and positive thinking. If we get this under control, we will be a great team! Animal adoptions are currently by appointment only. Therefore, we ask you to contact us in advance by phone at 05481 / 4146 or by email if you are interested in one of our animals.

Sicherstellung Wuscheliger Lockenkopf weiß, was er will.....und macht das auch sehr deutlich! Hundeerfahrung unbedingte Voraussetzung.

About Noah

What life with Noah looks like

Noah is a senior poodle dog waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
