Adopt Yeremy

Male · Kitten · 8 months

Shy rascal looking for company with fur—living without it would be quite silly. I'm used to having other cats around me from birth. Suddenly being alone... that's just not for me. I am one of the 15 cats that appeared at the municipal shelter in Greven. Like all the others, I don't enjoy being touched and fussed over by two-legged beings. Putting food down, checking on me occasionally to make sure I'm doing well—that's more than enough. If you want to cuddle, please do so, but not with me... As mentioned above, I will only move in with another cat, or I'll take a feline companion from here with me. The latter is definitely the more relaxed option for me. I know them, and I feel much more comfortable. And the adjustment period is easier for everyone. Preferably with Yasmin, who I also arrived with at the animal shelter. On the other hand, I don't need children or dogs at all. Who knows if I might eventually like cuddling in the long term? Ew, yuck... but who knows... Animal adoptions are currently by appointment only. We therefore ask you to contact us in advance by phone at 05481 / 4146 or by email if you are interested in one of our animals. Best placed with a resident cat (second-cat home).

About Yeremy

What life with Yeremy looks like

Yeremy is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yeremy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yeremy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yeremy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yeremy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yeremy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yeremy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yeremy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
