Laura je středního velikosti kříženec typu kolie, kterému je okolo pěti let. Ještě není testována na kočky. Může žít s jinými psy nebo bez nich. Je potřeba klidné prostředí pro dospělé. Laura nedávno přišla pod naši péči z veřejného shelteru Botosani v Rumunsku. I když návštěvujeme shelter třikrát nebo čtyřikrát ročně, neuviděli jsme ji během dvou let, kdy byla zadržována tam. Být pozorován mezi šesti a osmi stovkami psů je určitě výzvou! Během naší cesty v březnu tohoto roku se odvážila předstoupit a my jsme ji našli jako opravdovou skrytou perlu. Laura se za poslední dobu ve svém domácím pečovatelském ústavu v Británii výrazně vyvíjí. Trénink na řetězec byl pro ni docela strašlivý, ale jak uvidíte z fotek, brzy překonala svůj strach a teď už si užívá běhat volně po prvně v tak dlouhou dobu. Laura může žít s jinými psy, ale mohla by být i jediným psem ve svém trvalém domově. Očekáváme, že bude zdrženlivá, když přijde do svého nového domova, ale když dostane čas, její šťastná nová rodina uvidí laskavou a laskavou holku, kterou jsme měli cenu poznat. Laura bude potřebovat zkušeného majitele kvůli své zdrženlivosti vůči cizím lidem. Bude potřebovat klidné a pouze dospělé prostředí. Starší psi (10+ let): 150–250 GBP (závisí na věku a individuálních potřebách). Podmínky pro adopci Když adopujete psa od Safe Rescue, musíte použít uzávorový řetězec. Umožní vašemu psu bezpečnost: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vás důvěřovat, a nebudete vědět, které situace by mohly psa zneklidnit. Pokud se váš pes bude panikařit, pak je uzávorový řetězec jediný způsob, jak zabránit uniknutí vašeho psa (mnoho psů se může vytrhnout z obojku a/nebo přilby). Bude potřeba ALESPOŇ 3-6 měsíců, než se váš pes zvykne a vy se ho plně naučíte znát (delší doba pro nervózní psy). Uzávorový řetězec musí být VŽDY používán během tohoto období zvykání. I poté, co se pes zvykne, je nejbezpečnější používat uzávorový řetězec v situacích, kde se pes může bát (např. návštěva nových míst, kolem neznámých lidí, na veterině), a v situacích, kde mohou nastat neočekávané aktivační faktory (např. kolem ohňostrojových večerů). Nervózní psi mohou pořád nosit uzávorový řetězec jako bezpečnostní opatření. Uzávorový řetězec je bezpečnostní zařízení a NIKDY nesmí být použit jako nástroj tréninku. Použití řetězce k aplikaci tlaku na hrdlo psa je škodlivé. Pokud pes táhne řetězec, můžeme vám poradit s metodami tréninku, které vyhnete škodě. Jakmile se pes zvykne, můžete si zvážit použití přilby (spolu s uzávorovým řetězcem), pokud pes snese manipulaci při nasazení. Většina přilb není odolná proti úniku, ale přilby s řetězem za obratlem (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit Harnesses) jsou bezpečnější. Retraktabilní / roztažitelné řetězce nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adopovaní psi musí být vybráni ze záchranného centra a převezeni přímo domů v bezpečné kovové krabici. Despite us visiting the shelter three or four times a year we hadn’t noticed her in the two years she’d been incarcerated there. Getting noticed in amongst six to eight hundred dogs is certainly a challenge! In our trip in March this year she found the courage to push herself forward and we found her to be a real hidden gem. Laura is coming on leaps and bounds since arriving in her UK foster home. Lead training was quite scary for her but as you will see from the pics she soon overcame her fear and is now loving being able to run freely for the first time in so long. Laura can live with other dogs but could also be the only dog in her forever home. We anticipate she will be shy when arriving at her new home but once given time her lucky new family will see the sweet and affectionate girl that we have been honoured with getting to know. Laura will need an experienced owner due to her shyness with strangers. She will need a calm and adult only environment. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
