Laura è un incrocio di tipo collie di taglia media, circa cinque anni. Non ancora testata con i gatti. Può vivere con o senza altri cani. Ambientazione calma e solo per adulti necessaria. Laura è entrata in nostro affidamento recentemente dal rifugio pubblico di Botosani in Romania. Nonostante le nostre visite al rifugio tre o quattro volte all'anno non l'avevamo notata nei due anni in cui era rimasta incarcerata lì. Essere notati tra sei o ottocento cani è certamente una sfida! Nel nostro viaggio di marzo di quest'anno ha trovato il coraggio di spingersi in avanti e l'abbiamo trovata una vera gemma nascosta. Laura sta facendo grandi progressi da quando è arrivata nel suo rifugio in Inghilterra. L'addestramento alla guida è stato abbastanza terrificante per lei, ma come potrete vedere dalle foto, ha presto superato la sua paura ed è ora felice di poter correre liberamente per la prima volta da tanto tempo. Laura può vivere con altri cani ma potrebbe anche essere l'unico cane nella sua casa per sempre. Prevediamo che sarà timida quando arriverà nella sua nuova casa ma una volta data la possibilità, la fortunata nuova famiglia vedrà la dolce e affettuosa ragazza che abbiamo avuto l'onore di conoscere. Laura richiederà un proprietario esperto a causa della sua timidezza con gli estranei. Avrà bisogno di un ambiente calmo e solo per adulti. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Le tariffe di adozione sono: Cuccioli già castrati e tutti i cani adulti: £430. Cuccioli non castrati con contratti di sterilizzazione: £530 (riceverai un rimborso di £100 una volta che ci manderai la prova della sterilizzazione). Questo terrà sicuro il tuo cane: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora un guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per evitare che scappi (molti cani possono scappare da collari e/o imbracature). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi per permettere al tuo cane di ambientarsi e per conoscerlo pienamente (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve SEMPRE essere usato durante questo periodo di ambientamento. Anche dopo che il tuo cane si è ambientato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto nelle situazioni in cui il tuo cane potrebbe spaventarsi (es. visitare luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni dove possano verificarsi trigger inaspettati (es. vicino al fuoco d'artificio). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover indossare sempre il guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione sul collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il tuo cane si è ambientato, potresti voler considerare l'uso di una cingia (insieme al guinzaglio a scatto) se il cane è comodo nel momento in cui viene fissata. Laura is a medium sized collie type crossbreed aged around five years old. Not yet cat tested. Can live with or without other dogs. Adult only calm environment needed. Laura has come into our care recently from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. Despite us visiting the shelter three or four times a year we hadn’t noticed her in the two years she’d been incarcerated there. Getting noticed in amongst six to eight hundred dogs is certainly a challenge! In our trip in March this year she found the courage to push herself forward and we found her to be a real hidden gem. Laura is coming on leaps and bounds since arriving in her UK foster home. Lead training was quite scary for her but as you will see from the pics she soon overcame her fear and is now loving being able to run freely for the first time in so long. Laura can live with other dogs but could also be the only dog in her forever home. We anticipate she will be shy when arriving at her new home but once given time her lucky new family will see the sweet and affectionate girl that we have been honoured with getting to know. Laura will need an experienced owner due to her shyness with strangers. She will need a calm and adult only environment. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
