Maggie je malý až střední kříženec věku okolo 8 let. Maggie přišla k nám z veřejného shelteru Botosani v Rumunsku. Žila tam téměř celý život a její existence v tomto zoufalém místě ji nechala uzavřenou a bála se lidí. Trvalo to dlouho, ale Maggie je teď hloupá a sebevěrná holka v péči dočasného domova. Stále se bálá lidí, které nezná, ale je pohodlná, když jí lidé, které zná, dotýkají a ošetřují. Ještě nežádá pozornost a lásku, ale to přijde později v lepším prostředí jedna na jednu. Maggie se setkala s kočkami a byla s nimi v pořádku. Maggie potřebuje dům s zkušenostmi s obyčejnými psy. Užívá si své procházky a ráda by měla dostatečně aktivní cvičení. Je důležité, aby Maggie žila s minimálně jedním dalším psa, takže prosím nepodávejte žádost, pokud nemáte psa plným časem ve svém domě. Maggie by nedokázala zvládnout hluk a nepředvídatelnost malých dětí, ale byla by v pořádku s dětmi, které znají psa od deseti let a více. Maggie nedávno začala projevovat zájem o hračky a užívá si kousání nylabonu, což je skvělé vidět. Je velký milovník jídla a když se objeví pokrmy nebo se připravuje jídlo, posune se dopředu a bude si vyžadovat své. Maggie často chodí do uzavřeného pole, kde může běhat bez oblečení. Dříve trávila čas tam sama, ale teď si chce držet společnost, jen když najde něco dobrého, co si nasáne. Bohužel Maggie měla rozbroj s jiným psem v adoptivním domě a to způsobilo, že ostatní začali chovat se špatně k Maggie a běžně ji obtěžují, což jí způsobuje hodně stresu každý den. Potřebuje místo s hezkým psem, kde se může získat důvěru ke svým lidem vlastním tempem. Tento pes absolvoval testy s kočkami, takže může žít s kočkami, které znají psy. Poplatky za adopci od 1. prosince 2025 jsou: Puppies již sterilizované a všechny dospělé psi: 430 GBP. Nezastřižené mladé psi pod smlouvou o sterilizaci/krmení: 530 GBP (obdržíte 100 GBP vráceno, jakmile nám pošlete důkaz o sterilizaci). Starší psi (10+ let): 150–250 GBP (závisí na věku a individuálních potřebách). Pravidla adopce Když adopujete psa z Safe Rescue, musíte použít šňůru. To udrží vašeho psa v bezpečí: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vás důvěřovat a nebudete vědět, které situace by mohly vašeho psa zmát. Pokud se váš pes vyděsí, pak je jediný způsob, jak zabránit utečení vašeho psa, šňůra (mnoho psů může uniknout z krku a/nebo sedačky). Bude potřeba alespoň 3-6 měsíců, než se váš pes usadí a vy se ho plně naučíte (delší pro nervózní psy). Šňůra musí být vždy použita během tohoto období usazování. I poté, co se pes usadí, je nejbezpečnější použít šňůru v situacích, kdy se může pes strachovat (např. návštěva nových míst, kolem neznámých lidí, u veterináře), a v situacích, kdy mohou nastat neočekávané triggerové události (např. kolem večera ohňostrojů). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit šňůru jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Šňůra je bezpečnostní zařízení a nikdy nesmí být použita jako nástroj tréninku. Použití šňůry k aplikaci tlaku na krk psa je škodlivé. Pokud váš pes tahejí šňůru, můžeme vám doporučit metody tréninku, které vyhnete škodě. Jakmile se pes usadí, můžete zvážit použití sedačky (spolu se šňůrou), pokud se pes cítí pohodlně, když je umístěn. Většina sedaček není uniknutelná, ale sedačky se šňůrou za hrudní kostí (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit sedačky) jsou bezpečnější. Retrakční / roztažné šňůry nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adoptované psy musí být vybrány z rescue a převezeny přímo domů v krabici. Zdi a brány musí být minimálně 1,5 m a pevné. Všichni psi jsou očkováni, identifikovaní mikročipem a sterilizovaní (pokud je pes příliš mladý na sterilizaci). Maggie is a small to medium sized crossbreed of around 8 years old.Maggie came to us from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. She had been in there almost all her life and her existence in the dire place had left her shut down and afraid of humans. It’s taken a long time but Maggie is now a cheeky and confident girl in her foster home. She is still afraid of people she doesn’t know but is comfortable being touched and groomed by those she knows. She is not yet asking for fuss and attention but this will come later in a more one to one environment. Maggie has met cats and was fine with them. Maggie needs a home experienced with nervous dogs. She is enjoying her walks now and would like quite an active exercise routine. It is essential that Maggie lives with at least one other dog so please do not apply unless you have a dog full time in your home. Maggie could not cope with the noise and unpredictability of small children but would be ok with dog savvy children of ten plus. Maggie has recently started showing an interest in toys and enjoys chewing on a nylabone, this has been so lovely to see. She is a massive lover of food and when the treats come out or dinner is being prepared she will push her way to the front and bark, demanding hers. Maggie often goes to an enclosed field where she can run around off lead. She used to spend her time at these by herself but now likes to stick with the group, only falling behind if she’s found something good to sniff. Unfortunately Maggie had a falling out with another resident dog in her adopted home and this has caused others to initiate bullying behaviour towards Maggie and she is regularly picked on, causing her a lot of stress on a daily basis. She needs somewhere with a nice doggy friend where she can gain confidence with her humans in her own time. This dog has passed their cat testing so can live with dog savvy cats. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
