Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? No Daphne does not like being left by herself. In a previous home this was gradually worked on with a trainer to the point the owner could be out of sight in another room, she would be asleep and with music on. If home alone time was to be developed it would need to be done very slowly and with monitoring of her behaviour during this time. Do I have any medical conditions? History of Daphne has historic medical conditions, namely ear infections, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome Daphne and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home. Due to the nature of the medical condition, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before the pet goes home. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? No Additional information Daphne hasn’t lived with other dogs, therefore we think she would be best being the only dog in the home. Daphne is generally nervous when meeting other dogs and needs to be allowed to approach at her own pace. Although she has shown herself to be slightly more relaxed around other lurchers, and can be playful with dogs that don’t push her boundaries. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Daphne has previously lived in a home with a 13 year old child. Initially she was a little nervous and wary but did build up a good relationship with the child and would enjoy cuddling up with them. Due to this Daphne would only be suitable to live with children if they are aged 13+. What type of environment would suit me? Daphne will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing. This will allow her to get out all her energy with her toys and zoomies, as well as give her a safe space to roam because she can be nervous on walks. Daphne LOVES her toys! Soft toys are her favourite, she is quite independent with her play and usually takes her toys off to herself, she will chase them and pick them up and shake them. She is very vocal when she plays and gets very growly- a typical lurcher! Sometimes she will bring a toy over to you to play tug or fetch with. About Daphne Daphne is a young lurcher with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She forms strong bonds with those she trusts and thrives on companionship, so she can find it difficult when left on her own. One of Daphne’s favourite things in the world is zooming around at top speed, making a secure garden the perfect place for her to burn off energy and have fun. She loves playing with her toys, especially tossing them around and entertaining herself with a game. Daphne can be a little shy when meeting new people and exploring unfamiliar places. The big wide world can sometimes feel overwhelming for her, so she is looking for a patient and understanding home that can continue building her confidence through positive training and encouragement. With the right support, Daphne is sure to blossom into a happy, confident companion. She has so much love to give and will make a wonderful addition to a home that can offer her the time, reassurance, and affection she craves.
