Γεια! Είμαστε τρίο από συνδεδεμένους παπαγάιους Eclectus. Είμαστε όλοι μαζί με τους τρέχοντες κατοχεύς για 6 και μισή χρόνια. Η Zanthea και ο Loki είναι το δυνατό ζευγάρι της φλόγας, βγάζοντας αυγά τουλάχιστον 3 φορές το χρόνο. Η Zanthea είναι η χαριτωμένη κορίτσι και ακόμα και όταν οι ορμόνες της είναι σε αυξημένο επίπεδο είναι πάντα χαριτωμένη και ήρεμη. (εφόσον δεν πλησιάσεις τα αυγά της!) Ο Loki από την άλλη πλευρά δεν θα επιτρέψει τον κύριο φροντιστή κατά την περίοδο της αναπαραγωγής, θα δάγκει έτσι τα περισσότερα φορές τους αφαιρούμε από το δωμάτιο κατά την καθαρισμό κλπ. Φαίνεται να ανεχόταν τον άντρα του σπιτιού όταν μπαίνει για καθαρισμό. Ο Milo είναι ένα χαριτωμένο πράγμα πάντα. Όλοι ζουν ελεύθερα σε ένα μεγάλο δωμάτιο παπαγάιων και έχουν πρόσβαση σε ένα εξωτερικό αυιάριο. Ιστορία/Πλαίσιο: Είχαμε προηγουμένως αποκτηθεί από Problem Parrots, αλλά λόγω αλλαγής συνθηκών έπρεπε να επιστρέψουμε στη φιλανθρωπική οργάνωση. Εκπαίδευση: Όλοι θα πετάξουν προς σε σας ελεύθερα, αλλά ο Loki μπορεί να δαγκώσει αν είναι ορμονικός, έτσι ο Loki χρειάζεται κάποια εργασία σε αυτό. Διατροφή: Λόγω της ιδιαίτερης διατροφής τους, τρώνε κυρίως φρέσκα φρούτα και λαχανικά. Τρώνε πολύ λίγο σπόρο και θα επιλέγουν λαχανικά και φρούτα αντί για σπόρο, το οποίο είναι καλό όταν ζουν με άλλες είδη. Η Zanthea έχει τρόφιμα πλούσια σε πρωτεΐνη και ασβέστιο ιδιαίτερα κατά τη διάρκεια και μετά την έλευση των αυγών της. Πλούσια ζωή: Αγαπούν τίποτα περισσότερο από το να είναι στο εξωτερικό αυιάριο. Παίζουν με ξύλινα παιχνίδια και θα ευχαριστηθούν να κρεμούνται σε σχοινιά όλη την ημέρα. Η Zanthea και ο Milo αγαπούν να κάθονται στους ώμους σας καθώς προχωράτε στην ημερήσια σας δουλειά. Η Zanthea αγαπά τα μπάνια και τα ψεκασμάτα καθημερινά και οι άλλοι άντρες συνήθως συμμετέχουν επίσης. Σύνοψη: Θα ταιριάξουν ένα σπίτι όπου μπορούν να κάνουν την ημερήσια τους δουλειά, ιδανικά ένα δωμάτιο παπαγάιων ή ένα αυιάριο. Μπορούν να βρεθούν εύκολα με άλλα πουλιά και θα σχηματίσουν φιλίες με αυτά. Η Zanthea έχει τάση να θέτει τα αυγά της στο έδαφος σε κουτί, το οποίο είναι εκτός προσπελασιμότητας από τα άλλα πουλιά πάνω. Εφόσον δεν κατεβαίνουν στο κουτί της είναι ευτυχισμένη. Αφαιρούμε τα αυγά μετά την έλευση τους και τα αντικαθιστούμε με ψευδή αυγά, τα οποία αφαιρούμε μετά περίπου 20 ημέρες. Hi! We are a bonded threesome of Eclectus parrots. We have been with our current owners for 6 and a half years. Zanthea and Loki are the power couple of the flock, producing eggs at least 3 times a year. Zanthea is the sweetedt girl and even when hormones are raging she is still so sweet and placid. (as long as you don't go near her eggs!) Loki on the other hand will not tolerate the main carer during the breeding periods, he will bite so we tend to remove him from the room when cleaning etc. He seems to tolerate the man in the house though when he goes in to clean. Milo is a sweetheart always. All live freely in a large bird room with other parrots and have access to an outside aviary. History/Background: We were previously adopted by Problem Parrots, but due to a change of circumstances have had to return to the charity. Training: All will fly to you freely, but Loki can bite if hormonal, so Loki will need some work with this. Diet: Due to their special diets, they eat mainly fresh fruit and veg. They eat very little seed and will choose veg and fruit ober seed which is good when living amongst other species. Zanthea does have protein and calcium rich foods especially during and after her egg laying periods. Enrichment: The love nothing more than being in the outside aviary. They do play with wooden toys and will happily swing on ropes all day long. Zanthea and Milo love sitting on your shoulders while you go about your day. Zanthea loves daily baths r sprays and the the boys usually join in too. Summary: They would suit a home where they are free to go about their day, ideally a bird room or an aviary. They do get along with other birds very easily and will form friendships with them. Zanthea does tend to lay her eggs on the ground in a box, which is out of reach of the other birds above. Providing they do not go down to her box she is happy. We do remove the eggs once she has laid and replace with false eggs, which we remove after about 20 days. She was a fully feathered bird until she started breeding and the hormones kicked in. She also tends to over preen. All in all they are not noisy birds, just the odd calls now and then, usually from Milo as he has not got a lady. They are easy to care for and are really no bother at all. They are not needy birds, but do love to interact with you and they would listen to you talk to them all day long. The males do talk and say ‘pretty beak', ‘good boy', ‘I love you' and so much more.
