Meet Albie! Albie is a lovely boy with a big personality and lots of love to give. He is a very friendly, affectionate and excitable boy who loves being around people and getting plenty of attention. He can be a real giddy lad and, when he’s excited, he does jump up for attention and can be a bit mouthy. He is also very vocal in his kennel. With his high energy levels, Albie will need an active home where he can enjoy plenty of exercise, long walks and adventures. He absolutely loves getting out and about, exploring his surroundings and taking in all the interesting smells. He is quite strong on the lead so will need continued lead training. He also enjoys playing with his toys, although he prefers to play on his own with them and will chase around our compound proudly showing you what he has got. Albie does know some basic commands, but will benefit from further training and guidance to help him develop into the best version of himself. His new adopter will need to continue working on his manners, particularly around jumping up and mouthing when over-excited. Ongoing socialisation will also be important for him. As well as physical exercise, Albie will need plenty of mental stimulation to keep his clever and energetic mind occupied. Enrichment, training games, interactive toys and learning new skills would all be great ways to help him burn off some of that enthusiasm. Albie is looking for an active and committed home that will enjoy his fun-loving personality, give him plenty of exercise and enrichment, and be willing to continue his training and socialisation. In return, he has plenty of affection, enthusiasm and fun to offer. Albie will need a private secure garden. Albie has interacted with other dogs while in our care and we have found him to be very under-socialised. He can be very unsure around some and will bark and others he will have a sniff but still a little uncomfortable. We feel he would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where his new adopter can continue building up his confidence around other dogs with plenty of positive reinforcement in a controlled environment and they must go at Albie’s pace. As Albie came into the home as a stray, we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.
