Adoptar a Alfie

Alfie could potentially live with another dog who is happy to put up with his playful adolescent energy, following a successful dog mix at the centre. He could also live with secondary school-aged children who understand and are comfortable around a young, energetic dog. Alfie can find vet visits worrying, so his new family will need to be patient and considerate of this, with positive and happy vet visits helping him build confidence. He has previously struggled when left alone, so any time apart will need to be introduced gradually and built up at his own pace. Alfie is still a very young boy and will benefit from a family who are happy to take his training back to basics, helping him learn the skills he needs to thrive. He is a sweet, playful and loving youngster who simply needs the right family to help him grow in confidence and reach his full potential. Alfie is a 10-month-old Terrier cross who is doing really well in kennels, but his favourite place is out exploring with his handlers. He is a very friendly, affectionate boy who loves a cuddle, a fuss and spending time with people. Alfie enjoys playing with toys and loves interacting with his carers through play. He is happy to meet new people, although he can get very excited and may jump up, so helping him learn that four paws on the floor is the best way to say hello will be important. Alfie can sometimes feel nervous around loud noises and unfamiliar places, so gentle confidence building and slow introductions to new experiences will help him develop into a more confident young dog. He is comfortable being clipped on and having a harness put on, although he can be a little wiggly, so using treats and taking things slowly will help him learn that these routines are positive experiences.
