Bambu is a beautiful Russian Blue cat who was found in a cat colony in San Pedro de Alcántara. He didn't belong to that colony and, after being rescued, he arrived at Triple A in July 2020 to be neutered. He eventually stayed with us. Sadly, shortly after his arrival, some work was being carried out at the shelter and, due to an oversight by the workers, Bambu managed to escape. We never heard from him again. The years went by, and it seemed that his story would remain unresolved. Then, on 12 October 2026, he was picked up by the local Animal Health Department and brought back to Triple A. When we scanned his microchip, we discovered something incredible: it was Bambu, the cat we had lost more than six years earlier! After all that time, he had found his way back to us. On his arrival, he was tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV). Both tests were negative. Bambu is an affectionate cat. He approaches people and asks for attention, enjoys being stroked and appreciates human company. However, he does not get along well with other cats, so sharing a home with them could be difficult for him. He is currently readjusting to life in a safe, enclosed environment and learning to share his space with other cats. He is free to roam around the Triple A premises rather than being kept in a room, and we are continuing to observe how he settles in. After so many years away, Bambu needs peace and time to get used to this new chapter in his life. We would love him to find a home where he can receive all the attention and affection he deserves, preferably as the only cat. 💗 His story took an unexpected turn when he reappeared after more than six years. Now we hope he can begin a new chapter, this time with the safety and love of a family to call his own. 🏡 To ensure his safety, windows and terraces must have suitable protective measures in place before adoption. 📩 Adoption enquiries: 📸 Follow us on Instagram:
