Ideal Home: Best as an only dog, resident children 14+, experienced owners preferred Meet Barney – A Handsome Boy Looking for His Forever Home Barney is a handsome black and white boy who is nearly 7 years old and hoping that someone, somewhere, will fall in love with him and offer him the forever home he deserves. Beneath his striking coat is a loving, affectionate lad who enjoys a quieter life. In his kennel, Barney is calm, quiet and settled, and he has plenty of love to give to the right person. He's at an age where he has so much to offer an owner looking for a devoted companion and a special friend. Barney would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy all the love and attention for himself. There are a few things his future humans will need to understand about him. Barney can be strong on the lead especially at the beginning of his walks, and he's very interested in other breeds of dogs. On occasion, this interest can develop into a reactive response, so he will need a patient, understanding owner who is prepared to work with him and help him build his confidence around dogs who aren't greyhounds. Barney isn't looking for someone to change who he is overnight. He needs someone willing to understand him, give him time, and help him navigate the world at his own pace. With patience, consistency and kind guidance, his new person can help him feel more comfortable and secure when out and about. In return, you could gain a wonderfully loving companion who will bring affection, companionship and the special joy that comes with sharing your life with a retired greyhound. Could you be the person Barney has been waiting for? If you have a dog-free home, a little patience, and a big heart for a boy who needs someone in his corner, Barney could be the one for you. Please get in touch with us to find out more about this lovely boy. His forever home is out there — let's help him find it. ❤️
