Adoptar a Barley
Labrador Retriever · Macho · Cachorro · 14 meses
Carole Fairhurst - Gina Boyd - Glenys Fryer -

Barley has not had the best start in life and as a result he finds meeting new people very scary. We are looking for a very special home for Barley. One where the family are willing to visit him a few times at rescue to get to know him, so he can grow to trust you and know you are safe. When he is frightened he may give a low growl to let you know he is worried. He needs time to adjust and trust the new people in his life and he needs someone special to give him a chance to experience what all dogs should experience - a loving, caring, safe forever home. He has bonded strongly with Craig and he loves to play fetch and have a belly rub. He will destroy and make snow with soft toys but he loves his balls and enjoys chewing his bull bar. He has walked with one of our female golden retrievers and whilst excited and potentially could have been a bit too full on with his behaviour he wasnt aggressive but we do feel he would be best suited in a home without another dog, as he really does need to decompress from his past and learn to trust his new family. He is very strong on the lead but he does walk well on a gentle leader and he has proved he has a good recall in the secure field. Barley has spent most of his life crated, so he hasnt experienced the world and is essentially a big puppy, as he hadnt had any of the basic life experiences instilled. He has responded well with the training, time and love that Craig has been giving with him and now hes ready to find a family of his own. Do you have the right home for Barley to help him feel safe and loved.
