Barney podría vivir con niños de 13 años en adelante. También podría convivir con otro perro bien compatible y, potencialmente, con gatos o animales pequeños, aunque no tenemos antecedentes de su comportamiento con este tipo de animales. Barney es un típico Staffie joven: enérgico, tonto y lleno de cariño. Se ha adaptado enseguida aquí en el refugio y es un muchacho joven muy amigable y seguro de sí mismo. Es todo un personaje y resulta muy divertido pasar tiempo con él, ¡a menudo nos hace reír con sus travesuras! Barney es un chico muy emocionado y bullicioso que parece haberse perdido parte del adiestramiento básico que debería haber recibido, por lo que a menudo olvida sus modales y salta para saludar. También es fuerte y tira de la correa, así que necesitará dueños con la capacidad física para manejarlo mientras trabajan en ello. A este encantador muchacho le encanta conocer a otros perros y es muy juguetón con ellos; sin embargo, puede emocionarse demasiado, lo que probablemente resulte excesivo para muchos perros. Por eso, si se fuera a casa con otro perro, este tendría que ser muy tolerante y tener un estilo de juego similar, igual de bullicioso. ¡Se beneficiaría de aprender a calmarse un poco más en sus interacciones con sus amigos caninos! Barney es un personaje maravilloso, lleno de vida, y necesita desesperadamente encontrar su familia para siempre, una que pueda continuar su adiestramiento y socialización para que se convierta en un perro adulto feliz, sano y equilibrado. Necesita una familia activa que pueda seguirle el ritmo, proporcionarle abundante estimulación mental y física, y el adiestramiento constante y los límites que necesita. No tenemos ninguna duda de que Barney requerirá tiempo, paciencia y esfuerzo por parte de su nueva familia cuando llegue a casa por primera vez, pero este maravilloso muchacho tiene mucho amor que dar: adora a sus humanos, y sabemos que, con la familia adecuada que le prepare para tener éxito, será una incorporación increíble a su hogar definitivo. Barney could live with children aged 16+. He could live with another well-matched dog and potentially cats or small animals, although we have no history of his behaviour around such animals. Barney is very much a typical young Staffie – energetic, daft and full of love! He has settled straight in here at the shelter and is a super friendly and confident young lad. He is such a character and so much fun to spend time with – often making us laugh with his cheeky ways! Barney is a very excitable and boisterous boy who seems to have missed out on some of the basic training he should’ve had – so can often forget his manners and jump up to say hello. He’s also a strong lad and does pull on lead, so will need owners who are physically capable of managing him whilst working on this. This lovely lad loves meeting other dogs and is super playful towards them, however, he can often be over-excitable and this is likely to be too much for many dogs and so, if he was to go home with another dog, they would need to be very tolerant and have a similar, boisterous play style! He would benefit from learning how to be a little calmer in his interactions with his canine friends! Barney is a wonderful character who is so full of life and desperately needs to find his forever family, who can continue his training and socialisation so he develops into a happy, healthy and well-rounded adult dog. He needs an active family who can keep up with him, provide him with plenty of mental and physical enrichment and the consistent training and boundaries that he needs. We have no doubt Barney will require some time, patience and effort from his new family when he first goes home, but this wonderful lad has so much love to give, he absolutely adores his humans and we know that, with the right family setting him up for success, he will make an absolutely incredible addition to his forever home.
