Azul es un potro de color gris y blanco muy poco común, descendiente de Irish Draft, de 17.2hh, nacido en Irlanda en 2009. Llegó a Shy Lowen en 2016 después de que comenzara a saltar cuando lo montaran, lo cual dejó tanto a él como a su jinete nerviosos y alterados. Su dueño ya no podía hacerse cargo de él y quería que fuera a un lugar donde pudiera ser reentrenado con bondad y encontrar un hogar adecuado para asegurar su futuro. Azul llegó siendo un muchacho muy ansioso que saltaba y resollaba ante todo lo que veía y era bastante temeroso. Se adaptó rápidamente y respondió bien al trabajo en tierra, volviéndose amigable, confiado y cariñoso. Es un caballo muy dulce y sensible, un gigante realmente gentil y aún un gran bebé, pero no es el más inteligente y necesita tiempo para procesar cuando aprende cosas nuevas. Es buen amigo de Sargento, y nos gusta decir que es porque entre los dos tienen un solo cerebro completo. El entrenamiento para montar a Azul se inició desde cero, por lo tanto fue montado por primera vez en verano de 2017 y ahora está en proceso de ser preparado y entrenado. Aún es bastante saltarín al montarlo y necesita muchas muestras de seguridad, pero va ganando confianza constantemente. Azul está disponible para ser reubicado en un hogar experimentado capaz de darle el tiempo, apoyo y entrenamiento que necesita para continuar con su reeducación.

Blue is a very unusual grey and white skewbald 17.2hh Irish Draft cross born in Ireland in 2009. He came to Shy Lowen in 2016 after he began bolting when ridden which had left both him and his rider shaken and nervous. His owner was no longer able to cope with him and wanted him to go somewhere he could be retrained with kindness and found a suitable home to secure his future. Blue arrived a very nervous boy who jumped and snorted at everything he saw and was quite headshy. He settled quickly and responded well to groundwork, becoming friendly, trusting and affectionate. He is a very sweet and sensitive horse, an absolute gentle giant and still a big baby, but he’s not the brightest, and needs time to process when learning new things. He is best friends with Sergeant, and we like to joke that this is because between the two of them, they have one whole brain! Blue’s ridden training was started again from scratch, so he was backed with his first rider in summer 2017 and is now in the process of being brought on and schooled. He is still quite jumpy when ridden and needs lots of reassurance, but is growing in confidence all the time. Blue is available for rehoming to an experienced home capable of giving him the time, support and training he needs to continue his reeducation.
