Bobby tiene unos seis años y es un macho de tamaño pequeño (~10-12kg) de raza cruzada, castrado. (Número de microchip: 972274200164376) Cuando llegó a nosotros, estaba en una condición terrible y había estado así durante algún tiempo. Necesitó una poda completa, bajo anestesia, y tratamiento para infecciones de piel y anal. Bobby había sido algo descuidado durante cierto tiempo debido a circunstancias muy tristes, pero ahora está listo para una nueva vida donde será el centro de atención. Bobby tiene mucha energía y es un pequeño fiera. Ahora, no es un atleta, pero necesitará algunas caminatas buenas cada día, llenas de exploración y olfateo, junto con juego y rompecabezas también. Sería un perro excelente para entrenamiento de trucos para un entrenador en formación. Volver a la vida familiar ha sido un cambio importante para Bobby, pero, con la ayuda de su familia de acogida, ha hecho grandes avances y es un perro encantador de tener en casa. Es feliz en un hogar familiar con niños de 12 años o más. Bobby is about six years of age and is a small (~10-12kg) mix-breed neutered male. (Microchip no.: 972274200164376) When he came to us, he was in horrendous condition and had been for some time. He required a complete shearing, under anaesthetic, and treatment for skin and anal infections. Bobby had been somewhat neglected for some time due to very sad circumstances but now he’s ready for a new life where he will be the centre of attention! Bobby is full of beans and is a busy little fella. Now, he’s no athlete but he will need a couple of good walks, full of exploration and sniffing, each day, with some play and puzzles too. He would make a great trick training dog for a budding trainer! Moving back into family life has certainly been a turnaround for Bobby, but, with the help of his foster family, he has made great strides and is a lovely dog to live with. Bobby sleeps all night in his crate, comfortably spends time in his confinement area behind a baby gate and is clean in the house. He can spend some time alone and is quite happy to hang out while his human works or potters. Despite his comfort, we will be looking for a home where his human is around much of the time and will be working from home (in the future) and/or on a part-time basis. Bobby, in his previous life, spent a lot of time isolated and alone and this time round, he needs to have company and companionship through the day. Bobby is great in the car and is always up for an adventure! He loves his grub and his engagement out on walks is improving and improving. Bobby can pass other dogs on lead and can have a sniff and move on, but is a little worried by off-leash, larger dogs so needs a little more space from them to feel comfortable; he happily moves away and doesn’t draw attention to himself. We will have a program in place to help him settle in his new home area so that we can minimise stress for Bobby as much as possible. While Bobby could live with another dog, preferably a female of a similar size and age, he would probably be happier as the only dog in the house. He can’t live with cats or other small animals because he finds those a bit too much fun to chase. Bobby can live in a either a more suburban or quieter area and is not fazed by traffic or goings on. He loves to lie out in the garden in the sun but could live in an apartment, or similar once a balcony (or similar) is available and is safe for him to access. He is happy in a family home with children 12 or older. Bobby is a lovely companion but is not really a cuddler so doesn’t want to be picked up, fussed or handled too much. He’s very happy to hang out and be a part of all the family goings-on. He needs some continuing help with building handling and grooming comfort and we will support him and his new family with this work. As such, Bobby won’t work in a home with regular visits from small children or kids (or adults!) who are into cuddling and fussing a dog.Bobby will require regular professional grooming so that must be factored into the budget and we will help you find a groomer who will approach grooming Bobby so as to help his comfort improve. He is very affectionate with his humans and loves to sit with you, hanging out on the sofa beside you or playing with his toys, just being close to you. He sucks his blanket and although this sort of behaviour can be associated with more serious issues, Bobby’s sucking behaviour is limited to just his blanket for short periods, in appropriate contexts (winding down and self-soothing) and he can be easily redirected. Bobby loves to play with toys, particularly soft toys. He likes to carry them and throw them about and is learning how to play dog-led games with humans too. He hasn’t had a lot of toys or possessions in his past life and hasn’t really had to share with anyone so Bobby shows some mild guarding-related behaviour. He hasn’t bitten or exhibited escalating behaviour but does offer lots of signaling and is very clear about his need for space and relief. This is very easily managed and not really a big issue to live with, with our guidance. However, we will continue to work on this with his new humans so that his comfort increases and everybody understands his communication. Bobby is a fantastic companion and will enjoy a fun and adventure filled life with his new family. His new humans will need to be prepared to continue to work through his program so that Bobby has some time to settle in.
