Adoptar a Connie

Connie is such a sweet girl who just needs a little support in coming out of her shell. As is typical for a collie, she has a very smart brain which she loves to use on enrichment activities, brain games, puzzles and agility courses. Connie can take a bit of time to warm up to any new environments and during this time she will look to her people for reassurance and guidance. Once settled, she'll lead with her nose and happily have an explore around. She is not used to walking on the lead so this will need some ongoing attention, and she tends to gravitate towards whoever is walking her, clearly wanting to be close for support. During her handling and vet visits we've seen even more demand for fuss and attention, nuzzling in close to her handlers and asking for cuddles. When she's in the mood to play, she loves to get footballs and tennis balls involved, but has not shown a huge amount of interest in other toys. She tends to get nervous around cars but has made huge progress already during her time here, and has so much potential to continue to flourish in her new home. Connie is a lovely young Collie who has recently come into our care. Connie can be a nervous girl, so any children in the home should be of secondary school age or higher as they need to be able to understand her behaviour and respect her space. Connie will be able to live with another dog in the home, provided they are calm, confident and can show her the ropes, and any other animals will depend on successful introductions. She does love attention from her people, so living with an animal who has the potential to get jealous would likely not be suitable. Connie doesn't have much training under her belt so her adopters should be willing to commit to getting her up to speed, and helping her adjust to life in a home. Connie would love to have a quiet space in the home that is just hers where she can retreat to when the world gets a bit overwhelming, and it is not necessary for her to have her own private garden providing there are local communal spaces where she can be walked on lead. We have no history of Connie being left alone, so any time introduced should not be right away and should be built up slowly.
