Freya is such a sweet girl who has quickly won over the staff here in the centre. Being a Malinois, Freya is very curious and keen to explore new areas, so she'll need lots of space and patience for her to enrich herself in new environments. She has been a little stressed in her kennel, but generally coped well and does settle down for naps regularly. She has responded well to being handled for harnessing and clipping up, although is avoidant of grooming and restraint attempts, so she'll need a gentle hand with some stroking and petting to keep her comfortable. Freya is instantly friendly with new people and loves to say hello, although can be a little pickier with the dogs she chooses to interact with! She eats her meals nicely and happily takes treats, and her favourite pass time is a game of fetch with a tennis ball. Freya doesn't seem to mind cars, but can get a little jumpy around fast moving traffic so a quieter area would suit her best. Freya is a young Belgian Malinois who can live with primary school aged children, and is able to live with another dog in the home pending a successful mix. In characteristic with her breed, Freya is super intelligent and loves to use her brain, so her adopters should be willing to continue Freya's training and keep her mentally stimulated. She can live in an open plan home and, whilst beneficial, a private garden is not essential. She'll need lots of exercise though, so regularly taking her to large spaces where she can play and let off steam will be important! Freya can be left for short periods of time provided she is left with some enrichment activities to keep her occupied, and she loves people so will be happy having visitors in the home regularly.
