Meet Marley! Marley is a very lively and energetic boy with plenty of personality! He absolutely loves to play and, if you let him, would happily spend all day playing fetch. He is looking for a home that can keep up with his energy levels and provide him with plenty of exercise, playtime, enrichment and attention. Marley is very unsure of new people so will need time for him to gain his trust. Marley is a very vocal character. He certainly knows how to let you know when he wants your attention and isn’t afraid to speak up! His cheeky personality and enthusiasm make him a fun and engaging companion for the right person. When Marley first arrived with us, he found having his lead put on very difficult and would react towards the staff. As Marley came into our care as a stray, we have no history for him, so unfortunately we don’t know what may have happened in his past or why he is so worried about his lead. Our staff have been patiently working with Marley to help him feel more comfortable, and we are pleased to say that he is making great progress and is getting better. His new adopter will need to continue this work at his pace, using patience, consistency and positive experiences to help build his confidence. Marley is looking for a very active home that understands he will need ongoing training, patience and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. In return, he has the potential to be a wonderful, fun-loving companion who will keep you entertained with his playful nature and big personality. He will need a private secure garden as he can be a bit of an escape artist. Marley is not the dog for a first time dog owner. Marley has socialised with other dogs whilst in our care and is very unsure around them and can be vocal, so we feel he would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where his new adopter can carry on his training and socialisation around other dogs using lots of positive reinforcement. We would like any children in the home to be 16+ years.
