Everyone meet our next resident ….Millie!💔 Millie is a 9month old dachshund. She came in to our care as part of a group of dogs from multi dog household. They came in due to no fault of their own and sadly their needs weren’t being met. This household was all she had ever known as she was born there. 😔 Not all the dogs in the household were neutered and they didn’t all get along however Millie has shown she is ok with most dogs and it seemed the males in the household were the ones with issues, understandably. 🐾 Sadly this girls is EXTREMELY nervous and takes a while to warm up to you. We haven’t seen any aggression, just nervousness. She needs a place to call home and empathic people. Not people who will baby her, people who will show her she is safe and teach her confidence is key. 🫶🏻 At the moment, she finds comfort in her crate. This is somewhere which is her own and makes her feel safe. We do feel she would do better without the other dog who she came in to our care with. However could possibly live with the a well balanced neutered dog to help show her the way.🐶 At the vets, even though she was so scared she did amazing. She is up to date with vaccinations, flea, worm and is mircochipped. She passed a full healthhcheck! Once more confident and settled, she will be neutered too.🫶🏻 It’s clear she hasn’t seen much of the outside world or been walked much. She is learning what the world has to offer, slowly but surely. Each day she isn’t as nervous of outside. This is going to keep improving over time with patience. 🐾🐾 Millie needs a home with people who have worked with nervous rescue dogs who are under-socialised with ‘normal’ life. As a rescue you always get free behavioural help and back up for life from our fully qualified behaviourists. We are keeping things very simple and straightforward for Millie!🥰 This lady is happy in the car and will watch the world go by. It is so important that whoever applies for this girl understands she’s going to need plenty of time, patience and love. She’s starting to play with toys and trust her fosters. Whoever adopts this girl needs to understand this is a marathon not a sprint. ❤️🩹 Please share this girlie so she can find her happy forever after and blossom in the girl we know she can.🏡 Remember to complete the form below if you’re interested in adoption;
