20-09-26 Olivia is a very sweet but nervous girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is feeling quite overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and is in need of lots of love, patience and TLC while she settles in. Although she is worried at first, once she is safely in your arms, she does begin to settle, and we hope this will be the start of her learning to trust the people around her. Olivia absolutely loves the company of other dogs and relies on them for comfort and reassurance when she is feeling unsure. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can be her friend, show her the ropes and help her to feel safe as she adjusts to her new life. Having a doggy companion by her side will be very important to Olivia. She will be looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs and understand that she will need time to settle in and build her confidence. Her new family will need to be patient and allow Olivia to progress at her own pace, without putting pressure on her. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog-savvy children aged 16+ who understand that she may need space and reassurance while she settles. Olivia has never lived in a home before so there will be lots for her to learn. Her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she discovers all about home life and learns new skills such as house training. Olivia does not yet walk on a lead, so her new family will need to start by gently introducing her to wearing a harness and lead in the safety of the garden. As her confidence grows, she can gradually begin to venture further afield. Olivia is a gentle girl and with patience, understanding, a kind doggy friend and lots of love, we hope she will slowly discover that the world is a safe and wonderful place and blossom into a happy member of her new family. Olivia has some patchy fur and dry skin, which should hopefully be feeling much better before too long. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
