Pauline llegó al refugio sin microchip, después de que nuestro equipo recibiera notificación de un voluntario quien había presenciado a un pequeño Podenco siendo lanzado de un camión blanco en movimiento, en pleno día, en un cruce de carretera deshabitado, con tráfico sin embargo tenso. Nuestro equipo de rescate se apresuró al lugar cuando recibimos la notificación horas más tarde, después de que ya hubiera oscurecido, y inmediatamente encontró a una niña sagrada, herida, confundida, quien no sabía dónde estaba ni qué estaba sucediendo. Después de 2 noches de hacerla confiar en nosotros, Pauline entró en los brazos de nuestro miembro del equipo, y regresó al refugio con nosotros, agotada. Tan pequeña, tan delicada, debe haber estado muy asustada en la calle... Su cuello muestra signos de un collar o cadena sucia ajustada, por lo tanto, en algún momento ha llevado algo alrededor de su cuello. Una vez en el refugio, al día siguiente, Pauline conoció a otros pequeños amigos perros, y salió inmediatamente de su caparazón! Moviendo su cola, haciendo volteretas de alegría, dando besos a los cuidadores! Pauline camina bien con la correa, y mientras camina por las calles del refugio, prefiere mantenerse muy cerca de tus piernas, para seguridad y consuelo, pero una vez en el parque, con una correa larga, se convierte en libre, feliz y juguetona! Pauline es muy orientada a humanos y también a perros, por lo tanto ama tener compañía y la necesita. Cuando te sientas, ella corre hacia ti, sube a tu regazo, y puede quedarse allí durante horas, acurrucando su pequeña nariz en tu cuello, y dándote besos. Le encanta la cercanía suave. Tiene momentos pequeños de pánico corto ante movimientos rápidos de piernas al caminar, o cuando la correa se atasca alrededor de ella, o de movimientos rápidos de manos alrededor de su cabeza, pero muy rápidamente mira hacia arriba para obtener consuelo de su humano, y luego vuelve a ser su yo feliz y juguetón! Cuando te acuestas en el sofá o en el piso, ella sube completamente sobre ti, y mira a su alrededor como si fuera princesa del mundo! Pauline busca la casa más compasiva que existe, y definitivamente necesitaría una casa con al menos otro perro, con quien pueda seguir, buscar guía y jugar y correr. Pauline no quiere vivir en un entorno urbano, y solicita amablemente una casa cerca de la naturaleza, idealmente con un espacio exterior con cerca segura, porque le encanta correr en hierba y arbustos con sus amigos perros, y amaría hacerlo de forma segura sin tener que estar en la correa.... Una pequeña ciudad con muy poco tráfico y un ritmo de vida lento sería genial, y aún mejor: el campo. Experiencia con perros asustados es deseada, y en un mundo perfecto, su familia para siempre tendría experiencia con Podencos o razas similares. Su altura en el hombro es solo de 38 cm, es una chica pequeña.

Pauline arrived to the shelter without a microchip, after our team received notice from a volunteer who had witnessed a small Podenco being thrown out of a moving white van, in bright daylight, in a human-secluded road crossing, with nevertheless tense traffic. Our search & rescue team rushed to the scene when we receive the notice hours later, after it had already gone dark, and immediately came across a sacred, hurt, confused little girl, who did not know where she was or what was happening. After 2 nights of getting her to trust us, Pauline then walked into the arms of our team member, and came back to the shelter with us, exhausted. So little, so delicate, she must have been terrified on the street.... Her neck shows signs of a tight dirty collar or chain, so at some point she has been wearing something around her neck. Once in the shelter, the next morning, Pauline met other small dog friends, and immediately came out of her shell! Wagging her tail, making sommersaults from happiness, giving kisses to caretakers! Pauline walks well on the leash, and while walking on the shelter streets, she prefers to stay very close to your legs, for reassurance and safety, but once in the park, on a long leash, she becomes free, happy and playful! Pauline is very human- and also dog-oriented, so she loves to have companion and needs it. When you sit down, she rushes to you, climbs on your lap, and can sit there for ours, snuggling her little nose to your neck, and giving you kisses. She loves soft closeness. She does get small moments of short panic from hectic movements with legs while walking, or when getting the leash stuck around her, or of fast hand movements around above her head, but she very quickly looks up for reassurance from her human, and then gets back to her happy, wiggly self! When you lay down on the sofa or floor, she climbs all the on top of you, and looks around as she is princess of the world! Pauline is looking for the most caring home that exists, and she would definitely need a home with at least one more dog together, who she can follow around, look to for guidance and play & run with. Pauline does not wish to live in a city environment, and is kindly asking for a home near the nature, ideally with a safely fenced outside space, because she loves to run on the grass and bushes with her dog friends, and would love to safely do so not having to be on the leash.... A small sub-urban town with very little traffic and slow life pace would be great, and even better - the countryside. Scared dog experience is desired, and in a perfect world, her forever family would have experience with Podencos or similar breeds. Her shoulder height is just 38cm, she is a petite girl.
