Adoptar a Pedro

I would like a home filled with love and kindness! I need a resident dog to help me settle in and I have never met cats. I would like a secure garden to spend time in. I am learning to walk on a lead, and I'm doing well! I am in a foster home now so am learning all about home life and house training. I am neutered and ready to find my forever home! Pedro is a wonderful little boy who came to us from a breeder and is now searching for his loving forever home. When he first arrived he was worried and overwhelmed, but he has made lovely progress and now greets you with a waggy tail and has really started to come out of his shell. Since moving into his foster home, Pedro has settled in beautifully and made himself at home from day one. He is a happy, affectionate boy who loves cuddling up with his foster dog friends at night and sleeps soundly alongside them until morning. He enjoys travelling in the car and has great fun running in a secure field, where he has excellent recall. Pedro has proven to be a clever and responsive little boy who is eager to learn. He now walks beautifully on a lead in quieter areas and is gaining confidence all the time. His toilet training is still a work in progress, but he is improving steadily and learning by following the other dogs into the garden. Pedro takes great comfort from other dogs and would benefit from living with at least one kind and confident resident dog for companionship and reassurance. He is currently fostered with several small dogs, including Bichon-sized companions and a small Cockerpoo, and gets on very well with them, happily cuddling up together and enjoying their company. Pedro has previously shown some resource guarding behaviours around food with other dogs while at rescue, so he has been fed separately as a precaution. More recently he has begun eating alongside his foster companions without issue, which is very encouraging, though his adopters should be mindful of this and continue sensible management as needed. He has also grown in confidence around people and is now comfortable with humans, enjoying affection and interaction. He has met visitors to the home, including teenagers, and once introduced he relaxes and happily accepts cuddles and treats. Pedro is also in foster with a cat and is fine with them, so could be homed with a dog-savvy feline. Pedro would thrive in a calm home with adopters who can continue to build his confidence and give him the time, patience and reassurance he needs. He is a bright, affectionate little dog with so much potential, and with the right support he will make a truly wonderful companion. Pedro has been given the Gift of Life by Paula Elliott Pedro has settled into foster life so well and I wanted to share a little more about him now that I’ve gotten to know him better. One thing I’d update is that Pedro does not seem to need larger dogs around him, as was first thought. He is living with three bichon-sized dogs and a small cockerpoo, and he gets on beautifully with them all. He loves their company, cuddles up with them, and takes great comfort from being part of the group. I do think he would benefit from living with another friendly, confident dog, but size doesn’t seem to matter to him. He has also become much more confident around people and is very comfortable with humans in the home. He is a sweet, affectionate little boy who enjoys attention and has really come out of his shell. I have been feeding Pedro separately as a precaution, but recently I have started feeding him alongside my own dogs and he has been absolutely fine, with no issues at all so far. It is still early days, so sensible management around food would be wise, but this has been a very encouraging step. Pedro is a very clever little dog and so responsive to guidance. He walks beautifully on a lead in quieter areas and is an absolute pleasure to take out. I’ll be introducing him to busier areas to continue building his confidence, but he is doing wonderfully. He really is a lovely little dog — gentle, affectionate, bright and eager to learn. Watching him settle and grow in confidence has been such a joy, and I think in the right home he will make a truly wonderful companion. Pedro has settled very well into his foster home and has made himself at home from day one. He is a confident, happy-go-lucky little boy. He loves cuddling up with his foster sisters on the bed at night and happily sleeps alongside them until morning. He travels well in the car and thoroughly enjoys his trips to the secure field, where he has excellent recall. Pedro can walk on a lead in quiet areas when he has another dog for reassurance. His toilet training is still a work in progress, but he is improving steadily and is learning by following the other dogs into the garden. Pedro loves playing with toys. He has met lots of other dogs; he can be a little wary of male dogs at first but settles with reassurance. He has also met visitors to the home, including teenagers, and once introduced he relaxes quickly and enjoys cuddles and treats from them. He is an absolute dream to bath and brush too. Pedro is an absolute gem of a little dog who has come to us from a breeder and is now beginning his search for a loving forever home. He is a very sweet boy who is trying really hard to be brave, but the world is understandably quite overwhelming for him at the moment. Despite this, he is already starting to come out of his shell and will greet you with a waggy little tail, which is just lovely to see. Pedro is full of energy and curiosity and is beginning to take an interest in the world around him, so we are confident that with time and patience his confidence will continue to grow. He can still be worried about handling, which is to be expected given his background, but with gentle and kind adopters he should soon learn that people can be trusted and that affection is a positive experience. As Pedro has never lived in a home environment, he will need patient and understanding adopters who can help him learn all the basics, including house training, lead walking, and getting used to everyday household sights and sounds. He will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home where he can find his feet at his own pace. Pedro takes great comfort from other dogs and will need at least one kind and confident resident dog, ideally larger than him, who can offer reassurance and help guide him as he adjusts. He has shown some resource guarding behaviours around food with other dogs, so he will need an experienced home that can manage this appropriately, including feeding him separately. For a rescue-experienced home willing to give him the time, patience, and support he needs, Pedro is already coming on in leaps and bounds and has all the potential to blossom into a truly wonderful companion.
