Penélope arrived at Triple A in January 2024, after being rescued in the Las Palmeras area when she was just 3 or 4 months old. From day one, she made it clear that she was afraid of human contact. She would hiss when anyone approached and wouldn’t let anyone stroke her. She later spent a long time in a foster home, where she lived with other Triple A cats, including Nellie and Angie. Although they aren’t siblings, they formed a very special bond and, now that they’re back at Triple A, it’s common to see them always together, resting on a log or sharing a bed. Penélope gets on very well with other cats. However, she remains a very reserved cat around people. She won’t let anyone touch her, and handling her for veterinary check-ups, vaccinations or treatments is difficult. It’s a shame that, after so much time in a foster home and now at the rescue centre, she still hasn’t managed to fully trust people. But every cat has their own pace, and Penélope needs someone who can understand and respect that. 💛 Penélope needs a family with experience of cats, plenty of patience and affection, who won’t expect immediate results and will allow her to progress at her own pace.
