‘OLD DOG OF THE WEEK’ FEATURES NEW PHOTOS AND A FRESH WRITE-UP FOR AN OVERLOOKED OLDIE THAT HAS BEEN ON OUR WEBSITE FOR A WHILE BUT IS STILL WAITING FOR A NEW HOME. Please help Rossi by sharing this page! Sweet boy Rossi is a 10-year-old Lurcher currently in a foster home in Liverpool through Dogs Trust Merseyside . He wants to be the only pet at home and can live with sensible children from age 14 but he does like a peaceful environment. Rossi is a lovely friendly dog who can get overwhelmed easily if there's a lot going on. He needs owners who are kind and considerate of his sensitive nature. His bed is his safe space where he goes to relax. Rossi loves his walks, especially when he gets some off-lead time in a secure area. He prefers to avoid anywhere busy, including too much traffic. He will generally ignore other dogs but if they approach and he feels threatened, or if something else has made him edgy, he can react. He has made a dog friend since being in foster care but it took a while for him to get used to them. Rossi is clean in the house and, once he's settled in and knows the routine, he's content to be left for up to 3 hours. His foster carer has built up these periods to reassure him that they always do return and he seems to just snooze until they get back, greeting them with lots of affection. Rossi has fluxating patella (kneecap slippage) sometimes but it doesn't stop him being an active and happy boy. He travels well in the car and hops in gladly, wondering what lovely place he's being taken to explore!
