Dulce Salva fue entregado a rescate en España después de varios años de descuido. Ahora está disfrutando de las comodidades de la vida canina en Cardiff, Gales, en un hogar de acogida proporcionado por Project Galgo y merece un lugar cálido y amoroso donde llamarlo propio. Salva es un Galgo brindle (Galgo Español) y tiene 10 años (nació: 10/7/2015). Está castrado y pesa 22,4 kg y mide 69 cm de altura. Está libre de cualquier enfermedad mediterránea. Aunque descuidado, el espíritu de Salva permanece intacto. Sigue siendo delgado, pero sus músculos están fortaleciéndose, su piel y pelaje se están recuperando bien, las úlceras por presión en sus caderas están desapareciendo y sus ojos lucen brillantes y alerta. A medida que se hace más fuerte, su displasia de cadera es menos evidente. Es un chico alto con piernas largas y muy delgado, por lo que aprecia jerseys cálidos y abrigos así como la comodidad de su hogar de acogida. Salva es cariñoso e interesado en el mundo y sus alrededores. Está dispuesto a aprender y es dulce y respetuoso con las dos perras residentes en su hogar de acogida. Puede quedarse solo durante una hora o más, lo cual aumentará con el tiempo. Simplemente es un total placer estar cerca de él. A Salva le gusta la comida, el calor, el amor, las voces suaves, los premios y una chimenea de leña. Le encanta su mamá de acogida, pero se conecta bien con humanos amables, por lo que se adaptará bien a un nuevo hogar. Caminatas olfativas y tiempo para absorber todo también son sus favoritas. Salva no le gusta el frío, la lluvia pesada o helada y los grandes camiones. Además, se muestra cauteloso con los perros machos, posiblemente debido a que fue intimidado antes, y dudamos que pueda vivir con gatos. Salva tiene el talento de meter su hocico en cualquier armario abierto incluso si sólo tiene platos. Aprendió a agacharse cuando se cierra la puerta del refrigerador. No pierde el sonido del cajón de premios desde otra habitación a menos que esté dormido profundamente, hablando de eso duerme toda la noche y bastante parte del día. Salva necesita tiempo para adaptarse. Ha tenido años de descuido, por lo que necesita alguien que le dé atención amorosa y le muestre cuán querido es. Merece estar en un hogar donde alguien pueda enfocarse en él (cuando no esté durmiendo las horas que pasa) y él te lo recompensará un millón de veces. Necesita amor, paciencia, alguien que realmente quiera ayudar a este chico a convertirse en el Galgo saludable y vibrante que se oculta en su cuerpo descuidado. Responde muy bien a su mamá de acogida y sabe cómo conseguir la atención y los premios que quiere. Sweet Salva was handed into rescue in Spain after apparent years of neglect. He's now enjoying the comforts of doggy life in Cardiff, Wales, in a foster home provided by Project Galgo and deserves a cosy and loving place to call his own. Salva is a brindle Galgo (Spanish Greyhound) and is 10 years old (born: 10/7/2015). He is neutered and weighs 22.4kg and 69cm in height. He is clear of any Mediterranean disease. Although neglected, Salva's spirit is unbroken. He is still underweight, but his muscles are firming up, his skin and coat are recovering well, the pressure sores on his hips are fading and his eyes are looking bright and alert. As he gets stronger, his hip dysplasia is less evident. He’s a tall boy with long legs and is very lean, so he appreciates warm jumpers and coats and the cosiness of his foster home. Salva is loving and interested in the world and his home surroundings. He is keen to learn and is gentle and respectful of the two resident female dogs in his foster home. He can be left for an hour or so which should increase with time. He is simply a total joy to be around. Salva likes food, warmth, love, gentle voices, treats and a log burner. He loves his foster Mum but he connects well with kind humans so will adjust well to a new home. Sniffy walks and time to take it all in are also a favourite. Salva is not keen on the cold, heavy/icy rain and big lorries. Also, he is wary of male dogs, possibly from being bullied before and doubtful he could live with cats. Salva has the talent of hooking his nose into any open cupboard even if it’s only got plates in it and learning to duck as the fridge door is being closed. He does not miss hearing the treat drawer from two rooms away unless he’s in the deepest sleep, talking of which he sleeps through the night and quite a lot of the day. Salva needs time to settle. He has had years of neglect, so he needs someone who can give him loving attention and show him just how adored he is. He deserves to be in a home where someone can focus on him (when he’s not snoozing the hours away) and he will repay you a million times. He needs love, patience, someone who really wants to help this boy transform into the healthy vibrant Galgo that’s tucked away in his neglected body. He responds very well to his foster Mum and knows how to get the attention and treats he wants!
