Her story: The beautiful Shania is one of the most stunning dogs in the shelter. She has wonderful, soft fur in a tricolor pattern that invites cuddling ❤️ Shania unfortunately belongs to the dogs that have lived longer in the shelter, which we cannot understand given her beauty. She was initially a bit shy and would hide in the kennel when someone entered her space. But she is slowly warming up and becoming more outgoing. Outdoors, she is a completely different dog. She laughs and is happy when you let her into the yard and take care of her. The wonderful female dog becomes more withdrawn and retreats in the kennel… Therefore, it would be so important for her to have a chance to travel. Shania was found by animal rescuers with a cropped ear and a cropped tail. Unfortunately, we do not know what happened to her or who did it. Generally, Shania is therefore still a bit cautious and wants to get to know people slowly. Her name comes from the Indian language and means something like "I walk my path" or "I am on my way." Exactly what we hope for now for Shania: that she finally finds her people and continues on a good path with a wonderful future. Shanias future people should be patient and empathetic. She is currently not getting along well with her fellow animals and shows stress. This is likely due to the cramped space and the many dogs around her. Her behavior towards cats has not yet been tested. Shania is currently 2-3 years old and about 55-60cm tall. Due to her cropped ears and tail, she unfortunately cannot travel to Switzerland. But her beauty is not affected by this. As she has been in the kennel for a longer time without much movement, she has gained a bit of weight and should lose a few kilograms. For Shania, we wish for a patient, friendly, and loving interaction with experienced people who have no expectations of her and are not discouraged by setbacks. Children should be old enough and know how to handle dogs respectfully and responsibly. Shania wishes for a quiet home, preferably rural, with an enclosed yard and enough places to retreat if it gets too busy. She should always be allowed to set her own pace and decide what is doable or not for her. Due to her appearance, it cannot be ruled out that Shania will bring guard or kitchen dog traits with her when she settles in, such as territorial behavior, barking at the fence, or alerting to strangers. We hope so much that she now gets to experience the beautiful sides of life and learns that there are people who only want the best for her. Shania is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. She brings an EU pet passport and can travel after a positive foster home placement. Ihre Geschichte: Die wunderschöne Shania ist eine der schönsten Hunde im Shelter. Sie hat tolles, weiches Fell in einer Tricolor-Fellzeichnung die zum Kuscheln einlädt ❤️ Shania gehört leider schon zu den Hunden, die länger im Shelter leben, was wir nicht verstehen können, bei dieser Schönheit. Sie war anfangs noch etwas schüchtern und versteckt sich im Kennel, wenn man zu ihr reinkommt. Aber langsam taut sie auf und wird immer zutraulicher. Draußen ist sie ein ganz anderer Hund. Sie lacht und freut sich, wenn man sie in den Hof lässt und sich um sie kümmert. Einsam im Kennel geht die tolle Hündin immer mehr ein und zieht sich zurück…. Daher wäre es so wichtig, dass sie auch sie eine Chance bekommt, zu reisen. Shania wurde von Tierschützern mit einem abgeschnittenen Ohr und einer abgeschnittenen Rute gefunden. Leider wissen wir nicht, was ihr passiert ist und wer ihr das angetan hat. Grundsätzlich ist Shania daher noch etwas vorsichtig und möchte den Menschen langsam kennenlernen. Ihr Name kommt aus dem indianischen und bedeutet so viel wie, „ich gehe meinen Weg“ oder „ich bin auf meinem Weg“. Genau das erhoffen wir uns nun für Shania: dass sie endlich ihre Menschen findet und von jetzt an auf einem guten Weg ist und eine wunderschöne Zukunft vor sich hat. Shanias zukünftige Menschen sollten geduldig und empathisch sein. Mit ihren Artgenossen kommt sie aktuell nicht gut klar und zeigt sich eher gestresst. Vermutlich durch die Enge und die vielen Hunde um sie herum. Ihr Verhalten gegenüber Katzen konnte noch nicht getestet werden. Shania ist aktuell 2-3 Jahre alt und etwa 55-60cm groß. Aufgrund ihrer kupierten Ohren und der kupierten Rute, darf sie leider nicht in die Schweiz ausreisen. Aber ihrer Schönheit schadet dies keineswegs. Da sie jetzt längere Zeit ohne Bewegung im Zwinger saß, hat sie etwas zugenommen und müsste noch ein paar kg abnehmen. Für Shania wünschen wir uns einen geduldigen, freundlichen und liebevollen Umgang von erfahrenen Menschen, die keine Erwartungen an sie haben und die sich von Rückschritten nicht beeindrucken lassen. Kinder sollten bereits älter sein und einen respektvollen und verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Hunden kennen. Shania wünscht sich ein ruhiges Zuhause, eher ländlich, mit einem eingezäunten Garten und genug Rückzugsmöglichkeiten, falls es ihr zu unruhig wird. Sie sollte stets selber das Tempo vorgeben dürfen und entscheiden können, was für sie machbar ist oder nicht. Aufgrund ihrer Optik kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden, dass Shania Hüte- oder Herdenschutzhundeigenschaften mitbringt, wenn sie sich eingelebt hat, also z.B. ein territoriales Verhalten zeigt und am Zaun anschlägt oder fremde Menschen meldet. Wir hoffen so sehr, dass sie nun die schönen Seiten des Lebens kennenlernen darf und erfährt, dass es Menschen gibt, die nur ihr Bestes wollen. Shania ist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Sie bringt einen EU-Heimtierausweis mit und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro in ihre neue Familie ziehen.
