Meet Sophia ❤️ Sophia is a gentle, seven-year-old Cocker Spaniel with the sweetest soul. She has been in our care since January, and watching her blossom has been nothing short of amazing. When Sophia first arrived, she was in poor condition after spending her life in a breeding establishment. She was terrified of everything and everyone, and even the smallest things felt overwhelming for her. Months of patience, kindness, and love have helped her begin to trust. One of the greatest joys is opening her kennel door each morning to be greeted by her little wagging tail. She’s now learning to walk on a lead and is doing incredibly well—we couldn’t be prouder of how far she’s come. Sophia is still very nervous around new people, but once she forms a bond, she loves with her whole heart. Those of us who know her well, including our volunteers, absolutely adore her, and she returns that love tenfold. Now, Sophia is ready for the next chapter of her life: finding a forever home. She is looking for a home with another kind, confident dog, as we believe having a canine companion will help her continue to build her confidence, learn the routines of family life, and show her how to simply be a dog. Sophia will need time, patience, and understanding, but for the right family, the reward will be immeasurable. She is a truly special little girl who has overcome so much already, and she’s ready to give all the love she has to the people willing to give her the chance she deserves.
