Pobre Wasabi (5-7 años) llegó a The Holdings con heridas, moretones y una úlcera en el ojo, así como las mejillas voluminosas características de un macho no esterilizado. A pesar de todo esto, Wasabi fue dulce y tolerante mientras le administrábamos gotas para los ojos tres veces al día, y nunca se enfureció a pesar de lo claramente asustado que estaba. Estamos felices de decir que Wasabi se está recuperando bien, tanto mental como físicamente, y ha aprendido que absolutamente ama lick-e-lix (¿quién no?). Wasabi es todavía un chico asustado, pero se siente suficientemente seguro para disfrutar relajándose en la estantería superior cerca de su ventana, desde donde puede observar todo lo que ocurre. Wasabi es FIV+, lo que significa que lleva el Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Felina. El virus solo afecta a los gatos y no se puede transmitir a humanos, perros u otros animales. Debido a que creemos que Wasabi podría haber sido el provocador en peleas anteriores, necesitará ser el único gato en su nueva casa. Aunque el FIV puede debilitar el sistema inmunológico de un gato, muchos gatos FIV+ viven vidas largas y felices con los cuidados adecuados. Looking for: A quiet and understanding home who can let him settle at his own pace Poor Wasabi (5-7 years old) was battered and bruised when he arrived at The Holdings, with an eye ulcer, fighting wounds, and the chonky cheeks characteristic of an entire male. Despite all this, Wasabi was gentle and accommodating while we administered his eye drops three times a day, and never lashed out despite how clearly terrified he was. We are happy to say that Wasabi has been healing nicely, both mentally and physically, and he has learned that he absolutely loves lick-e-lix (who doesn’t!). Wasabi is still a frightened boy but feels safe enough to enjoy relaxing on the top shelf by his window, where he can keep an eye on all the goings on. Wasabi is FIV+, meaning he carries the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. The virus only affects cats and cannot be passed to humans, dogs, or other animals. Because we believe Wasabi may have been the instigator in previous fights, he will need to be the only cat in his new home. While FIV can weaken a cat’s immune system, many FIV+ cats live long, happy lives with the right care.
