Zorro: This little fellow has big plans for his young life: he wants to become the best cuddler in the world and the superstar of the dog playground. Unfortunately for Zorro, he was abandoned by his humans, who dumped him in a Spanish perrera at a very young age. This is a municipal shelter where it often ends badly for dogs. Will Zorro ever be able to make his ambitions come true? Fortunately, volunteers regularly come to the perrera to select dogs that have a chance of being adopted. Little Zorro was spotted and was allowed to come with these friendly people! They couldn't understand how someone could just leave such a sweet puppy in the shelter. They found a place for him at Galgo's Rescue Almeria (GRA) of the Belgian managers John and Sandy. The GRA shelter mainly takes in Spanish sighthounds such as galgos and podencos. These dogs are abused for hunting in Spain and then massively dumped as soon as the hunting season is over. A terrible and hard life for these sensitive, friendly animals. Other dogs that urgently need help are also warmly received by John and Sandy. Like Zorro. World Dogs Foundation has been working with John and Sandy for a long time, and now we get to find a home for this playful little guy! Zorro's beautiful dark eyes stand out nicely against his light coat, as if he had secretly put on his owner's eyeliner. He is only 6 months old. He looks fearlessly at the world, like the brave hero with the same name. Or is he called Zorro because he is as smart as a fox? It could be both, because he is brave and smart. The volunteers at the perrera wrote about him: "This gorgeous young pup, named for his foxy good looks, is an absolute heartbreaker. Fun, friendly, loving, and full of charm..." Het verhaal van Zorro: Deze kleine knul heeft grote plannen voor zijn jonge leventje: hij wil de beste knuffelaar ter wereld worden en de superster van het hondenspeelveld. Helaas voor Zorro werd hij in de steek gelaten door zijn mensen, die hem piepjong dumpten in een Spaanse perrera. Dit is een gemeente-asiel waar het vaak slecht afloopt met honden. Zou Zorro zijn ambities ooit waar kunnen maken? Gelukkig komen er regelmatig vrijwilligers naar de perrera om honden uit te zoeken die kans maken op adoptie. Kleine Zorro werd gespot en mocht mee met deze vriendelijke mensen! Ze snapten niet hoe iemand zo’n lief hondje zomaar kon achterlaten in het asiel. Zij vonden een plekje voor hem bij Galgo’s Rescue Almeria (GRA) van de Belgische beheerders John en Sandy. Het asiel van GRA vangt vooral Spaanse windhonden op zoals galgo’s en podenco’s. Deze honden worden in Spanje misbruikt voor de jacht en daarna massaal gedumpt, zodra het jachtseizoen voorbij is. Een vreselijk en hard leven voor deze gevoelige, vriendelijke dieren. Ook andere honden die dringend hulp nodig hebben worden warm ontvangen door John en Sandy. Zoals Zorro. Stichting Wereldhonden werkt al heel lang samen met John en Sandy en nu mogen wij een thuisje zoeken voor deze speelse rakker! De prachtige donkere ogen van Zorro steken mooi af tegen zijn lichte vacht, alsof hij stiekem aan de eyeliner van zijn baasje heeft gezeten. Nog maar 6 maanden oud is hij. Onverschrokken kijk hij de wereld in, zoals de stoere held met dezelfde naam. Of heet hij Zorro omdat hij zo slim is als een vos? Het kan allebei, want hij is stoer én slim. De vrijwilligers van de perrera schreven over hem: “This gorgeous young pup, named for his foxy good looks, is an absolute heartbreaker.
