Ares es un perro muy especial y sensible, lleno de cariño para dar a quienes ganen su confianza 🩵. Nació en marzo de 2023, es un pitbull que pesa menos de 25 kilos y tiene una característica única: prognatismo, lo que significa que su mandíbula inferior se proyecta más que su mandíbula superior.-- Llegó al refugio porque su dueño ya no podía cuidarlo y había mostrado algunos comportamientos agresivos hacia su familia. Según lo que sabemos, Ares no recibió una adecuada formación ni socialización con personas u otros perros. Pasó la mayor parte del tiempo en un balcón sin mucha atención, lo que llevó a problemas de comportamiento que nadie sabía cómo manejar.-- Sus primeros días en el refugio fueron muy difíciles: era inseguro y quería mantenerse alejado de nosotros. Poco a poco y con mucha paciencia y comprensión, comenzó a confiar en sus cuidadores. Cuando se dio cuenta de que estábamos cuidándolo y mostrándole amor, su actitud cambió por completo, y descubrimos a un Ares atento y muy cariñoso. Al principio tuvo dificultades para caminar con correa, pero ahora camina bien y sin tirar.-- Tiene una personalidad que vale la pena descubrir; solo necesita tiempo, espacio, comprensión y que le demuestres que eres su amigo y no alguien al que deba desconfiar. En el patio de juego, cuando está sin correa, se queda cerca y responde cuando lo llaman.-- Todavía estamos trabajando para mejorar su inseguridad frente a extraños, ya que podría lanzarse si se siente amenazado, especialmente durante las caminatas. También le cuesta relacionarse con otros perros al principio. El refugio -con todo el estrés que trae, el tiempo limitado que podemos dedicarle y la falta de un entrenador dedicado- no es el lugar ideal para avanzar completamente en su educación, aunque hacemos todo lo posible.-- Ares necesita una familia experimentada y comprometida que continúe su entrenamiento con la ayuda de un entrenador de perros y trabaje en su socialización para evitar problemas en el futuro. Idealmente, debería ir a un hogar que no esté justo en el centro de la ciudad y tenga acceso a la naturaleza, donde pueda sentirse tranquilo. Por ahora creemos que es mejor que sea el único perro en el hogar, aunque podría considerarse que viva con otro perro si ese perro es sociable y bien comportado, con presentaciones adecuadas para ayudar a Ares a adaptarse.-- Si quieres conocerlo gradualmente, ven al refugio y pasa tiempo con él. Podrías descubrir que podrías ser compañeros de vida y darle a Ares la familia y el amor que tanto merece... y que él, con su gran corazón, está ansioso por devolverte.-- **Se requiere una licencia PPP, y se realizarán visitas de seguimiento después de la adopción para asegurar que Ares esté viviendo felizmente. Ares is a very special and sensitive dog, full of affection to give to those who earn his trust 🩵. He was born in March 2023, is a pitbull weighing under 25 kilos, and has a unique feature: prognathism, which means his lower jaw sticks out further than his upper jaw.-- He came to the shelter because his owner could no longer take care of him and had shown some harsh behavior toward her family. From what we know, Ares didn’t receive proper training or socialization with people or other dogs. He spent most of his time on a terrace with little attention, which led to behavioral issues that no one knew how to handle.-- His first days at the shelter were very difficult—he was insecure and wanted to keep his distance from us. Little by little, and with a lot of patience and understanding, he began to trust his caregivers. When he realized that we were taking care of him and showing him love, his attitude completely changed, and we discovered an attentive and very affectionate Ares. At first, he struggled to walk on a leash, but now he walks well and without pulling.-- He has a personality that’s worth discovering; he just needs time, space, understanding, and for you to show him that you are his friend and not someone he needs to distrust. In the play yard, when he’s off-leash, he stays close and responds when called.-- We are still working to improve his insecurity around strangers, as he might lunge if he feels threatened, especially during walks. He also finds it difficult to relate to other dogs at first. The shelter—with all the stress it brings, the limited time we can dedicate to him, and the lack of a dedicated trainer—is not the ideal place to fully advance his education, though we are doing everything we can.-- Ares needs an experienced and committed family who will continue his training with the help of a dog trainer and work on his socialization to avoid problems in the future. Ideally, he should go to a home that is not right in the city center and has access to nature, where he can feel calm. For now, we believe it’s best if he is the only dog in the home, though it could be considered for him to live with another dog if that dog is sociable and well-behaved, with proper introductions to help Ares adjust.-- If you want to get to know him gradually, come to the shelter and spend time with him. You might discover that you could be life companions and give Ares the family and love he so deeply deserves… and that he, with his big heart, is eager to give back.-- **A PPP license is required, and follow-up visits will be carried out after adoption to ensure that Ares is living happily.
