Bella llegó a nuestro cuidado muy sobrepeso y con dificultades evidentes para respirar. Ha estado en un hogar de acogida donde ha podido perder peso de forma constante hasta que estuvo lista para la cirugía BOAS y ahora es una perra completamente diferente. Bella es muy amigable con las personas y le encanta tener visitas en su hogar de acogida, saludándolas emocionadamente en la puerta y saltando felizmente a las piernas acogedoras. Ha sido excelente en su hogar de acogida pero a veces pide ser liberada durante la noche, o es perturbada en ciertos momentos por luces externas y encontrar una rutina nocturna que le funcione es un trabajo en progreso. Algo con lo que Bella realmente lucha es la televisión, especialmente cuando hay animales en ella. Correrá y ladrará hacia la televisión. La familia de acogida recibe consejos de nuestro equipo de comportamiento al respecto, así como los adoptantes de Bella. Bella encuentra el ejercicio mucho más fácil ahora que está en mejores condiciones físicas y puede ser sorprendentemente fuerte en la correa. Es muy reactiva cuando ve a otro perro y se le enseña a centrarse en su cuidador en lugar de en el otro perro. Requisitos para el hogar: Bella puede vivir con niños de edad secundaria, pero no con otros perros. Ha convivido con gatos antes, pero persigue a los gatos fuera de casa. Recientemente tuvo cirugía para mejorar su respiración y ha tenido una recuperación completa. Bella came in to our care incredibly overweight and with some obvious difficulties with her breathing. She has been in a foster home where she has been able to lose weight steadily until she was ready for BOAS surgery and is now a whole new dog! Bella is very friendly with people and loves having visitors in her foster home, greeting them excitedly at the door and happily jumping on welcoming laps. She has been brilliant in her foster home but does sometimes ask to be let out during the night, or is disturbed at times by lights outside and finding a nighttime routine that suits her is a work in progress! Something we know that Bella really struggles with is the TV, more so when there are animal on it. She will lunge and bark at the TV. Her foster family are receiving advice from our Behaviour team on this, as will her adopters. Bella finds exercise a lot easier now she's in better shape, and can be surprisingly strong on her lead! She is very reactive when she spots another dog and she's being taught to focus on her handler instead. Bella can live with children of high school age but not other dogs. She has lived with cats before but she does chase them outside of the home. She has recently had surgery to improve her breathing and has made a full recovery. Bella is house trained but becomes stressed if left alone for any length of time.
