Dakota es un cruzado gris y blanco que entró en nuestro cuidado de su hogar anterior sin culpa propia. Esta perra joven es cariñosa y muy inteligente y ama aprender comandos nuevos, ya entiende "sentado" y "tocar" y actualmente está aprendiendo "medio" (pararse entre tus piernas). Dakota tiene mucha energía por lo que busca adoptantes activos que tengan tiempo para dedicar a sus necesidades, al menos 2 paseos diarios con tiempo de juego y estimulación mental durante el día. En cuanto al tiempo de juego, adora juguetes y pelotas ruidosas y se divertirá felizmente sola. Cualquier nuevo adoptador descubrirá que Dakota es una perra muy lista y también le encantan los rompecabezas con golosinas para mantenerla entretenida. Como tiene mucha energía, esta dulce perra ha encontrado la vida en nuestras jaulas frustrante y puede ser un problema al intentar colocarle la correa, sin embargo nuestros increíbles cuidadores han descubierto un buen método para mantenerla tranquila en estas situaciones, lo cual les enseñarán a sus nuevos adoptadores. Como todavía es una perra joven, conocer a personas sigue siendo muy emocionante y ya sea que seas nuevo para ella o una cara amigable, aún saltará alto para saludarte. Los abrazos son aún más estimulantes para Dakota y en ocasiones intentará morder como si aún fuera un cachorro, afortunadamente puede redirigirla fácilmente a un juguete cuando lo hace. Tiene las características de un lurcher con las subidas de energía altas (ruidosa a veces) de un perro de raza bulldog. Debido a esto, decimos que debe vivir con niños de 16 años en adelante. Dakota ha mostrado buenos comportamientos sociales con otros perros, sin embargo aún es inexperta en conocer a perros con correa, por lo tanto buscamos un hogar donde sea el único perro. Sin embargo, si llega el hogar perfecto, podríamos considerar intentar una mezcla con otro perro para ver cómo va. Una vez que esté en su nuevo hogar con adoptadores que le ofrezcan las salidas que necesita para liberar su energía acumulada actualmente, prosperará y seguirá desarrollándose en una perra divertida y alegre que disfrutará de un cálido abrazo en el sofá al final del día. Dakota is a beautiful grey and white crossbreed who came into our care from her previous home through no fault of her own. This young dog is loving and very smart and loves to learn new commands, she already understands sit and touch and is currently learning “middle” (standing between your legs) Dakota has lots of energy so is looking for adopters who are active and have time to dedicate to her needs, at least 2 walks a day with playtime and mental stimulation throughout the day. When it comes to playtime she adores toys and squeaky balls and will happily amuse herself. Any new adopters will find that Dakota is such a clever dog and she also loves challenging treat puzzles to keep her entertained. As she is full of bounce, this sweet dog has found life in our kennels frustrating and can become a handful when attempting to harness her, however our incredible carers have discovered a great method to keep her calm in these circumstances which they will definitely teach to her new adopters. As she is still a young dog, meeting people is still very exciting and whether you are new to her or a friendly face she will still jump high to greet you. Cuddles are even more overstimulating for Dakota and at times she will attempt to mouth as if she is still a young puppy, thankfully she can be easily redirected onto a toy when she does this. She has the zoomies traits of a lurcher with the high energy bumps (boisterous at times) of a bull breed. Due to this we are saying she should live with children 16+. Dakota has shown good social behaviours around other dogs, however she is still inexperienced with meeting dogs on lead, therefore we are looking for a home where she will be the only dog However, if the perfect home comes along we may be tempted to attempt a dog mix to see how it goes. Once she is in her new home with adopters who provide the outlets she needs to release her current pent up energy she is going to thrive and continue to develop into such a fun and joyful dog who will enjoy a cosy cuddle on the sofa at the end of the day.
