Es un tierno gran amigo que sería adecuado para la mayoría de las casas ya que es muy bien comportado. Hugh necesitará un jardín amplio con una valla sólida de 6 pies ya que le gusta pararse sobre sus patas traseras y observar el mundo pasar. Es un tipo curioso y no quiere perderse nada. Una vez que Hugh se ha conocido a alguien es sociable y amigable. Es típico de la raza, inicialmente puede estar realmente contento de verte o distante hasta que quiera conversar. Introducing Hugh, a lovely big Akita with a lovely personality to match. He came into us as a stray from the Bristol area. He is a big softie that would be suitable for most homes as he is so well behaved. Hugh will need a good sized garden with a solid 6′ fence as he likes to stand on his hind legs and watch the world go by. He is a nosey chap and hates to miss things! Once Hugh has been introduced to someone he is sociable and friendly. Typical of the breed, initially he can either be really pleased to see you or standoffish until he fancies a chat. Hugh walks well on the lead and enjoys his walks. He will occasionally pull if he feels that there is something that he needs to sniff or see, but is generally easy to walk. As Hugh is so good with people, he can be placed with children over 12 years that are comfortable with large dogs. Hugh loves to play and he particularly likes soft toys. Sometimes he can be a bit over enthusiastic with them and some toys have been known to explode everywhere. It would be lovely for Hugh to find a home with an existing spayed female as he enjoys the company of other dogs. He is polite with females and would make a good companion. Akitas are very hairy and will require regular grooming to keep them looking nice. This is not as breed for those who do not want hair on the sofa or carpet. Be warned! Overall, Hugh is an amazing dog that has a lot of love to offer his new family.
