Imperia, una hermosa perra Mastín, fue encontrada sin chip y llevada al refugio por Sanidad. Cómo lograron atraparla en ese momento, sigue siendo un misterio, porque llegó a nosotros tan increíblemente asustada. Por lo general, a los perros les toma bastante poco tiempo en el refugio para sentirse seguros y comenzar a salir de su caparazón, algunos lo hacen en unos días, otros hasta en unas semanas. A Imperia le ha tomado meses empezar a sentirse más segura, erguirse con más firmeza, poder relajarse un poco junto a las personas. Las condiciones y el entorno del refugio son extremadamente difíciles para ella y su desarrollo ha sido muy retrasado por la falta de tiempo o espacio seguro en el refugio para perros sensibles como Imperia. Se siente muy bien alrededor de sus amigos caninos - principalmente machos tranquilos Podencos, con quienes le gusta jugar, correr y acurrucarse. Ella se apoya en otros perros para orientarse y claramente necesita también a otros perros en su hogar futuro. A Imperia le gustan más los machos que las hembras, y se adapta rápidamente a diferentes machos de tamaño pequeño-medio, quienes la invitan a jugar de manera suave, para que ella controle el ritmo de conocerse. A Imperia también le gusta conocer a perros machos más grandes y los invita a jugar a través de la cerca, pero luego se asusta cuando se acercan directamente a ella con demasiada energía. Se conecta más con personas muy pacientes y amables, que no traten de tocarla y le den el espacio y el tiempo que necesita. Imperia busca un hogar cerca de la naturaleza, en un área tranquila. Imperia, a beautiful Mastin girl, was found without a chip and brought to the shelter by Sanidad. Mostly, it takes dogs quite a short time in the shelter, to feel safe and to start to come out of their shells, some take just a few days, some up to a few weeks. It has taken Imperia months to start feeling more confident, stand up more straight, to be able to relax even a little bit next to humans. The conditions and environment of the shelter are extremely hard of her and her development has greatly been slowed down by the lack of time or safe space in the shelter for sensitive dogs like Imperia. She feels very good around her doggie friends - mostly male easy-going Podencos, who she likes to play, run and cuddle with. She relies on other dogs for orientation and she definitely needs other dogs also in her future home. Imperia likes males much more than females, and settles quite quickly with different smaller-medium size males, who invite her to play in a soft way, so she can lead the speed of getting to know each other. Imperia actually also likes to meet bigger male dogs, and invites them to play through the fence, but then gets scared when they approach her directly, with too much energy. She connects more with very patient and kinds people, who do not try to touch her and give her the space and time she needs. At the same time, Imperia does need a confident human, who will not enforce her insecurity by speaking to her very softly - when she receives clear, confident guidelines from a human, for example on a walk, then she relaxes visibly, and follows the human and the pack. Imperia is looking for a home near the nature, in a quiet area. More than anything, it will be important for her to have simple, clear daily routines, which are repeating constantly - she grows more confident in known surroundings and daily schedules. She will probably always remain a shy girl, who will be scared of strangers and new situations, but we believe that in her safe environment, with her dog and human pack, she will start to come out of her shell much quicker. She is looking for an experienced home who has had hands-on experience with scared & shy dogs before, a home without small children, older dog-educated children would not be a problem. Her shoulder height is 68cm.
