Musquete (pecho blanco) y Bebe (más pequeño, barbilla gris) son una madre y un hijo que buscan un hogar tranquilo donde puedan tener compañía la mayor parte del tiempo y hacer largas caminatas por el campo o en la playa. Un hogar con experiencia en Cocker Spaniels sería ideal. Pueden estar emocionados al saludar a las personas del hogar pero se tranquilizan después de un corto tiempo. Ladrarán si escuchan a alguien en la puerta principal. Musquete es el más tímido, ya que creció durante los cierres por la pandemia de Covid y no estaba acostumbrado a ver a mucha gente con frecuencia. Musquete es un poco más inseguro con las personas o situaciones y puede saltar sobre ti pero se calma después de un minuto. Normalmente toma algo de la confianza de su mamá Bebe, por lo que trabajan bien juntos y siempre disfrutan de la compañía mutua. Bebe es muy amable y cariñoso y solo quiere atención. Los dos están bien en el veterinario. Están acostumbrados a los niños y pueden quedarse solos durante unas horas. Ambos están bien para lavarlos y cepillarlos y han estado en kennels antes. Musquete y Bebe viajan bien en el coche y aman hacer buenas caminatas de aventura. En las caminatas, Musquete puede tener miedo de otros perros y tiende a alejarse de ellos pero Bebe está feliz de saludar. Musquete lleva un arnés y pueden tirar de la correa: pueden ser bastante fuertes. Ambos tienen entrenamiento de recall con silbato y normalmente vuelven incluso si están explorando. Musquete no debe ser dejado sin supervisión con la correa puesta ya que antes ha mordido la correa. Musquete tiene miedo de los ruidos fuertes y ha tenido algunos accidentes en casa y Bebe tiene algunos bultos. Musquete y Bebe son perros mayores y cualquier tratamiento veterinario que necesiten será cubierto bajo nuestro Esquema para Perros Mayores. Musquete no está castrado pero lo será una vez que se haya adaptado a su nuevo hogar (el costo será cubierto por DAS). Pero Musquete y Bebe aún son spaniels activos y aman nada más que hacer largas caminatas juntos. En particular, aman nadar y podrían correr millas: las playas son una gran preferencia. Musket (white chest) and Bebe (smaller, grey chin) are a mother and son looking for a quiet home together where they can have company most of the time and go on long country or beach walks. A home with Cocker Spaniel experience would be best. They can be excited to greet people in the home but settle after a short time. They will bark if they hear someone at the front gate. Musket is the more timid one, as he grew up during the Covid lockdowns and was not used to seeing people often. Musket is a bit more unsure of people or situations and can jump up on you but calms down after a minute. He usually takes on some of his mum Bebe’s confidence so they work well together and always enjoy each other’s company. Bebe is very friendly and affectionate and just wants attention. Both are okay at the vets. They are used to children and can be left alone for a few hours. Both are fine to be wash and brushed and they have stayed in boarding kennels before. Musket and Bebe travel well in the car and love to go on good adventure walks. On walks, Musket can be a little scared of other dogs and tends to stay away from them but Bebe is happy to say hello. Musket wears a harness and they can pull on the lead – they can be quite strong. Both have been recall trained with a whistle and usually come back even if they are exploring. Musket cannot be left unattended with his lead on as he has chewed through it before. Musket is scared of loud noises and has had a couple of accidents in the house and Bebe has a few lumps. Musket and Bebe are older dogs and any vet treatment they need would be covered under our Old Dog Scheme.* Musket is not neutered but will be once he is settled in his new home (cost covered by DAS). But Musket and Bebe are still active Spaniels and love nothing more than going on long walks together. Particularly, they love a good swim and could run for miles – beaches are a big favourite. They also love to chase a ball. *OLD DOG SCHEME: Dog Aid Scotland’s Old Dog Scheme covers dogs rehomed at 8 years old or above. This means that we will cover costs for veterinary care for the dog for the remainder of their life within reason. We do not cover costs for routine treatments such as vaccinations, worming and flea treatment. If the dog requires special dietary food we will contribute 50% of the cost. This will alleviate the worry of the financial implications taking an older dog into your home. Older dogs make great pets!
