12-05-26 Norma es una chica dulce que ha entrado en nuestro cuidado proveniente de un criador en busca de un nuevo comienzo. Tiene un excelente temperamento y le gusta recibir atención y cariño, así que no creemos que le tome mucho tiempo salir de su concha una vez que esté en un hogar. Le encantaría encontrar un hogar tranquilo y silencioso con adoptantes que tengan tiempo suficiente para pasar con ella y que le permitan adaptarse a su propio ritmo. Consideraríamos colocarla con adolescentes sensibles y conocedores de perros. Norma se lleva maravillosamente con sus amigos de la jaula y depende de su compañía para sentirse cómoda, por lo tanto necesitará otro perro amable y seguro en su nuevo hogar que la ayude a guiarla y le ofrezca la seguridad que necesita mientras se adapta y encuentra su camino. Como Norma nunca ha vivido en un hogar antes, tendrá que aprender todo sobre el entrenamiento en casa, caminar con correa y arnés, y las otras bases de la vida en casa. Con paciencia y una rutina constante, comenzará a ganar confianza. Nuestros veterinarios han observado que tiene una luxación de la rótula de grado 2 en una pata trasera y una luxación de grado 3 en la otra pata trasera. Estas podrían mejorar con ejercicio suave a medida que vaya fortaleciendo los músculos. Actualmente, Norma puede caminar normalmente sin observarse anomalías en su andar o cojera. Las luxaciones son estables, no hay discapacidad funcional actual y se mantiene buena masa muscular. No se requiere intervención en este momento, aunque se recomienda vigilar cualquier futura cojera, salto o cambios en el andar, y esto no estaría cubierto por el seguro. Este perro puede ser colocado con un perro residente.

12-05-26 Norma is a sweet girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She has a wonderful temperament and is happy to have some fuss and attention, so we don't think it will take her long to come out of her shell once she's in a home. She would love to find a calm and quiet home with adopters who will have plenty of time to spend with her and will allow her to settle in at her own pace. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog savvy teenagers. Norma gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. As Norma has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, walking on a lead and harness, and the other basics of home life. With patience and a consistent routine, she will begin to grow in confidence. Norma is a gentle and lovely girl who will benefit from a calm and supportive home, where she can build confidence at her own pace and become a much-loved companion. Our vets have noted that she has a Grade 2 luxating patella in one hind leg and a Grade 3 luxating patella in the other hind leg. These may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. At present, Norma is able to walk normally with no gait abnormalities or lameness observed. The luxations are stable, with no current functional impairment, and good muscle mass is maintained. No intervention is needed at this stage, although monitoring is advised for any future lameness, skipping, or changes in gait, and it would not be coverable by insurance. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
