Rex llegó al refugio después de vivir con un grupo de personas sin hogar que ya no pudieron cuidar de él. Ellos lo amaban y querían algo mejor, un hogar seguro y estable donde pudiera destruir. Habiendo vivido la mayor parte de su vida en las calles, Rex ahora está aprendiendo lo que significa ser parte de un entorno estructurado. Es un chico grande y guapo con una personalidad grande y un corazón aún más grande. Rex es muy sociable con las personas y ama la interacción humana, aunque puede volverse un poco excesivamente emocionado y saltar, algo con lo que estamos trabajando activamente con él. Actualmente está recibiendo entrenamiento con la ayuda de un entrenador profesional para ayudarlo a acostumbrarse a una vida de rutina, reglas y compañía. Aunque no estaba bien socializado con otros perros cuando era cachorro, está haciendo un progreso fantástico. Rex es inteligente, dispuesto a aprender y responde bien a una guía constante. Aún no estamos seguros cómo Rex se porta con los niños, por lo tanto, un hogar con adultos o estudiantes mayores podría ser más adecuado mientras continua su entrenamiento. También todavía se está ajustando a la vida en la jaula, lo cual es muy diferente de la libertad que conocía. Fuera de la jaula, se transforma. Rex came to the refuge after living with a group of homeless people who could no longer care for him. They loved him and wanted something better ,a safe, stable home where he could thrive. Having lived most of his life on the streets, Rex is now learning what it means to be part of a structured environment. He’s a large, handsome boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Rex is very sociable with people and loves human interaction, though he can get a bit overexcited and jump up something we’re actively working on with him. He’s currently undergoing training with the help of a professional dog trainer to help him adjust to a life of routine, rules, and companionship. While he wasn’t well socialised with other dogs as a puppy, he’s making fantastic progress. Rex is smart, eager to learn, and responds well to consistent guidance. We’re not yet sure how Rex is with children, so a home with adults or older teens may be most suitable while he continues his training. He’s also still adjusting to life in the kennel, which is very different from the freedom he’s known . Outside the kennel, he transforms. Give him space and time outdoors, and you’ll see his playful, loving nature shine through. Rex needs an experienced, patient adopter who’s willing to continue his training and support his transition into a more structured life. A home without small children and with space for him to stretch his legs would be ideal. In return, you’ll have a loyal, intelligent companion who’s learning how to love and be loved in return. Rex didn’t have the easiest start but with the right person, he has a bright future. Come meet him and see the progress he’s already made.
