Ronald es un chico muy especial que llegó a nosotros desde el refugio, y aunque no podemos asegurarlo con certeza, creemos que podría ser un cruce entre un Malinois Belga y un Bull Terrier de Staffordshire. Lo que sí podemos decir con seguridad es que es un perro increíblemente guapo, inteligente y cariñoso que merece ser visto tal cual es. Ronald es un chico feliz y entusiasta que no tiene ni un solo hueso malo en su cuerpo, pero puede ser un poco parlanchín y ruidoso cuando está emocionado. Aún está aprendiendo a respetar el espacio personal y a entender los límites, lo cual puede ser un poco mucho para alguien que no esté familiarizado con razas grandes y de alta energía. Su entusiasmo también podría resultar abrumador para alguien sin el tiempo o la experiencia necesarios para trabajar consistentemente en su adiestamiento. Con la guía adecuada, paciencia y estructura, Ronald tiene todo el potencial para convertirse en un compañero maravilloso y fiel. Cuando Ronald llegó por primera vez, estaba abrumado y sin seguridad, especialmente alrededor de otros perros. Pasó mucho tiempo solo en su jaula, tratando de procesar el mundo a su alrededor. Pero con el tiempo, cuidado y el apoyo de sus cuidadores, Ronald ha hecho una progresión verdaderamente increíble. Debido a esta transformación, ahora estamos dispuestos a considerar la posibilidad de rehogar a Ronald con otra perra amigable de tamaño similar al suyo, siempre que las presentaciones vayan bien. Ronald is a super special boy who came to us from the pound, and while we can’t say for certain, we think he may be a Belgian Malinois crossed with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. What we can say for sure is that he’s an incredibly handsome, intelligent, and loving dog who deserves to be seen for who he truly is. Ronald is a happy, enthusiastic boy who doesn’t have a bad bone in his body, but he can be a bit mouthy and boisterous when he’s excited. He’s still learning how to respect personal space and understand boundaries, which can be a bit much for someone unfamiliar with larger, high-energy breeds. His exuberance might also feel overwhelming for someone without the time or experience to work consistently on training. With the right guidance, patience, and structure, Ronald has all the potential to become a wonderful, devoted companion. When Ronald first arrived, he was overwhelmed and unsure, especially around other dogs. He spent a lot of time alone in his kennel, trying to process the world around him. But with time, care, and the support of his carers, Ronald has made truly incredible progress. Because of this transformation, we’re now open to homing Ronald with another friendly female dog of a similar size to him, as long as the introductions go well. Ronald is bursting with cleverness and potential. He knows a range of commands including 'sit', 'paw', 'down', 'stay', 'wait', and even 'spin'! He waits patiently for his meals, walks beautifully on the lead, and adores learning new things. He is the sort of dog who thrives on structure, activity, and positive engagement, a true working brain in need of a purpose. Ronald has also shown he can travel well in the car and has even gone on days out to the beach, country park and Pen Y Fan! While he can still be a little vocal when excited, with gentle reassurance and tasty treats, he settles quickly and continues to show us what a truly lovely companion he could be in the right hands. Ronald will need a bit of support with house training as he settles into home life, but with consistency and encouragement, he’s sure to pick it up quickly. Ronald would do best in an active and experienced home where he’ll be loved, understood, and given every chance to shine. He’s not just a “project” dog, he’s a bright, affectionate, and goofy soul who has already proven how much he can grow when someone believes in him. Ronald is still waiting for his forever home. He’s been overlooked again and again, and it’s hard to understand why. To know Ronald is to love him, and if you take the time to meet him, we think you’ll fall for him just like we have. He’s more than ready for his second chance, he just needs someone to say yes. To help set Ronald and his adopters up for success, we would want any potential adopters to have at least two meet and greets with him before adoption. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
