Afortunadamente, Stanley entró en el cuidado de Safe Rescue hace 4 años proveniente de un refugio rumano. Había sido muy acosado en el refugio y estaba muy delgado debido a que otros perros no le permitían comer. Ahora busca una persona muy especial para ofrecerle la casa perfecta que se merece. Stanley es un cruza pequeño a mediano, probablemente alrededor de 9 años de edad y vive en un hogar de acogida en Norwich, Norfolk. Es justo decir que Stanley no ha sido realmente una "persona de gente". Después de años de dificultades por parte de los humanos, es comprensible, y así ha estado pasando los últimos 4 años recibiendo comida y mostrando sin gratitud sino miradas sucias. Sin embargo, lo único que importaba era que había salido del refugio y estaba feliz y seguro en su hogar de acogida. Durante su estancia, Stanley no ha causado ningún problema. En su mayor parte, se funde en el fondo. Aceptará bañarse y cepillarse sin chistar cuando sea necesario. Simplemente nunca ha mostrado ninguna señal de querer más interacción. Recientemente, la cuidadora de acogida de Stanley ha sentido un cambio en él y hasta diría que casi se olvidó de sí mismo y disfrutó de un cepellón y un poco de atención. Apoyó su cabeza en su rodilla y se durmió, demostrando que en realidad es ahora un anciano y se merece un entorno más tranquilo y relajado para su retiro. Aún puede ser un caso de lo que puedes hacer por Stanley y no de lo amor que te dará a ti, pero quizás en un entorno más personal pueda ser más que un perro que se funde en el fondo. Mientras tanto, las recompensas vendrán de ofrecerle comodidad y paz a un viejo firme que solo quiere usarlo para la comida. Stanley necesita otro perro en el hogar y puede ser juguetón cuando piensa que nadie está mirando. No tiene problemas con gatos. Ha estado en un hogar de acogida con niños mayores de 8; los ignora y ellos lo ignoran y esa situación funciona para todos. Saldrá a pasear y lo disfrutará inicialmente pero se volverá hostil después de unos veinte minutos, especialmente si optas por ir en una dirección que le desagrada. Lamentablemente, se puede ver en sus ojos que ha visto y soportado mucho más de lo que cualquier perro debería, por lo tanto no debe ser juzgado por su actitud distante hacia los humanos. Durante las sesiones de peluquería, hay muchas cicatrices ocultas por su espeso pelaje. Tenga en cuenta que Safe Rescue tiene una política según la cual todos los perros adoptados de ellos deben llevar un arnés en los paseos. Luckily, Stanley came into the care of Safe Rescue 4 years ago from a Romanian shelter. He had been extremely picked on in the shelter and was very underweight due to other dogs not allowing him to eat. He's now looking for a very special kind of person to offer him the perfect home he deserves. Stanley is a small to medium-sized Crossbreed, probably around 9 years old and living in a foster home in Royston, Hertfordshire. It’s fair to say that Stanley has not really been a “people person”. After years of hardship at the hands of humans, it's understandable, and so he's been ticking along for 4 years being fed and showing no gratitude but dirty looks. All that mattered, however, was that he was out of the shelter and happy and safe in his foster home. For the duration of his stay, Stanley has really not been any trouble at all. He blends into the background for the most part. He will tolerate being bathed and groomed without a fuss when needed. He’s just never really shown any sign of wanting any further interaction. Recently though, Stanley's foster carer has felt a change in him and would even go as far as to say that he almost forgot himself and enjoyed a groom and a fuss. He rested his head on her knee and dozed off, showing that actually he’s really a senior now and he deserves a quieter and more relaxed environment for his retirement. It is still potentially going to be a case of what you can do for Stanley and not what love he’s going to give back to you, but just maybe in a more one-to-one environment he can be more than a “blend into the background” dog. In the meantime, rewards will be from offering comfort and peace to a stoic old boy who just wants to use you for food. Stanley needs another dog in residence and can be playful when he thinks nobody is looking. He has no issues with cats. He has been in a foster home with children of 8 plus; he ignores them and they ignore him and that situation works for all involved. He will go for walks and enjoys them initially but gets belligerent after about twenty minutes, especially if you opt to go in a direction which displeases him. Sadly, you can see in his eyes that he’s seen and endured way more than any dog should, and he should therefore not be judged for his standoffish approach to humans. During grooming sessions, there are many scars hidden by his thick coat. Please note – Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
