Young, active livestock guardian dog with wonderful character seeks new home. This handsome boy needs time to get to know someone and feel comfortable. Initially wary and cautious with strangers, but once he knows and trusts you, he becomes very affectionate and devoted. He enjoys attention and will be completely focused on you. Children in the family should be teenagers due to initial wariness. Gets along well with familiar dogs, but is initially skeptical of new canine acquaintances due to breed traits. Doesn't work well with cats - needs cat-free home. Seeking people who understand and can work with livestock guardian dog behaviors. Wilhelm enjoys being with his people and protecting his territory. Would benefit from home with fenced property. Despite appearing smaller in photos, he's larger than a German Shepherd.
