What is TailHarbor?

TailHarbor is a Europe-wide search for rescue animals. We collect adoption listings from over 3,900 shelters across 40 countries into one place, so you can search every available animal at once instead of checking shelter websites one by one.

Is TailHarbor free to use?

Yes. Searching and browsing cost nothing, and we never charge adopters a fee. Any adoption fee is set and collected by the shelter itself, not by us.

Where do the listings come from?

Directly from the shelters. We read their listings daily, translate them into English alongside the original, and keep them current. When an animal is adopted, its listing comes down.

Which countries does TailHarbor cover?

40 European countries, from Portugal to Poland and Norway to Greece. You can adopt locally or across a border, and our import guides cover the legal requirements for each origin and destination pair.

Are all the animals rescues?

Every animal on TailHarbor comes from a rescue shelter or a verified welfare organisation. We do not list animals from breeders, pet shops, or private sellers.
