Päivitys 28.2.2026: Nyt he ovat leirikassa. Erato on noin 4 vuotta ja terve. He ovat turvassa ja meillä huolenpitoon. Mitä kauniita eläimiä. He ovat iloisia olemasta yhdessä. Vaikka elämänsä olivat kääntyneet ylösalaisin, teemme parhaimme siitä, että se saadaan takaisin oikein päin. Tähän mennessä kaikki on hyvin. Erato on äiti (vasemmalla), Lyra on pieni tyttö (vaikka hän on yhtä suuri kuin äiti, oikealla). Jotakin aikaa rentoutua varten laitamme heidät myöhemmin adoptioon. Tähän mennessä hoitamme heitä runsaalla huomiolla ja annamme heille aikaa tottua tilamme makuun. Hänen tarinansa: Jos olet ollut vanhassa satamassa Chaniassa, olet nähnyt Eraton ja hänen tyttönsä. She used to live on a boat at the old Harbor in Chania but her owner got sick and couldn’t take care of them anymore. Erato has vision problems and can't see very well. She is receiving treatment in the form of eye drops. Description/Updates/Pictures: Update June 2026: Erato likes to play with water Update February 2026: Now they are at the shelter. Erato is about 4 years and healthy. They are safe and in our care. What beautiful animals, happy to be together. Although their lives were turned upside down, we are doing our best to turn it right side up again. So far, so good. Erato is the momma (left), Lyra is the little girl (although she is as big as her momma, right). “They live on a boat. Well, they lived on a boat with their owner. Their owner has become ill, has been hospitalized and can no longer care for them. The harbor police asked from the municipality to have them removed from the boat. The harbor police had tried to contact me a few days ago but I had not had the time to get back to them. Today at the vet, although not accustomed to doing so, my vet asked me for help because she could not see this animal “released” on to the street. That was when she took me to where Erato was in her cage and I immediately recognized her! She was to be released on to the street? This animal had always had an owner! So I agreed to take her and her baby girl (who is on the boat as I write) tomorrow. Welcome Erato, I hope the shelter will be temporary. With your beauty, it probably will. Erato is estimated at four years old. Today she was neutered and clinically checked by the vet. She is leishmania negative and healthy.”
