Actualizare 28.2.2026: Acum sunt la adăpost. Erato are aproximativ 4 ani și este sănătoasă. Ele sunt în siguranță și în îngrijirea noastră. Ce animale frumoase. Sunt fericite să fie împreună. Deși viața lor a fost întoarsă pe cap, facem tot posibilul pentru a o readuce pe dreptul ei. Până acum, totul e bine. Erato este mama (stânga), Lyra este fetița (deși ea este la fel de mare ca mama ei, dreapta). După un timp de relaxare, le vom pune spre adoptare. Pentru moment, le oferim multe atenții și le dăm timp să se obișnuiească cu spațiul nostru. Istorica ei: Dacă ai fost la Vechiul Port din Chania, ai văzut-o pe Erato și fiica ei. Ele trăiesc pe un vas. Sau mai exact, trăiau pe un vas cu proprietarul lor. Proprietarul lor s-a îmbolnăvit, a fost spitalizat și nu mai poate îngriji-le. Poliția portului a cerut municipalității să le ia de pe vas. Poliția portului a încercat să mă contacteze cu câteva zile în urmă, dar nu am avut timp să le răspund. Astăzi la veterinar, deși nu e obișnuită să facă asta, medicul meu a cerut ajutorul meu deoarece nu putea vedea această animală „eliberată” pe stradă. A fost atunci când mi-a arătat unde era Erato în cușcă și am recunoscut-o imediat! Trebuia eliberată pe stradă? Această animală avea întotdeauna un stăpân! Așa că am acceptat să o iau pe ea și pe fiica ei (care este pe vas în timp ce scriu eu). Bine ai venit Erato, sper că adăpostul va fi temporar. Cu frumusețea ta, probabil va fi. Se estimează că Erato are patru ani. Astăzi a fost sterilizată și verificată clinic de veterinar. Este negativă la leishmaniază și sănătoasă.

She used to live on a boat at the old Harbor in Chania but her owner got sick and couldn’t take care of them anymore. Erato has vision problems and can't see very well. She is receiving treatment in the form of eye drops. Description/Updates/Pictures: Update June 2026: Erato likes to play with water Update February 2026: Now they are at the shelter. Erato is about 4 years and healthy. They are safe and in our care. What beautiful animals, happy to be together. Although their lives were turned upside down, we are doing our best to turn it right side up again. So far, so good. Erato is the momma (left), Lyra is the little girl (although she is as big as her momma, right). “They live on a boat. Well, they lived on a boat with their owner. Their owner has become ill, has been hospitalized and can no longer care for them. The harbor police asked from the municipality to have them removed from the boat. The harbor police had tried to contact me a few days ago but I had not had the time to get back to them. Today at the vet, although not accustomed to doing so, my vet asked me for help because she could not see this animal “released” on to the street. That was when she took me to where Erato was in her cage and I immediately recognized her! She was to be released on to the street? This animal had always had an owner! So I agreed to take her and her baby girl (who is on the boat as I write) tomorrow. Welcome Erato, I hope the shelter will be temporary. With your beauty, it probably will. Erato is estimated at four years old. Today she was neutered and clinically checked by the vet. She is leishmania negative and healthy.”
